He chuckled at my dishevelled appearance. "I thought you was gonna be a no show," he told me. "You're usually super early."
"I know I'm so sorry!" I told him. "I tried to get here as quickly as I could."
I picked up a pen and pad from behind the desk, placing them into my front pockets. "Don't be silly you've still got." He paused to look at his pocket watch. "Two minutes."
He smiled at me before leaving me at the front desk with a pile of menus while I awaited my first customer. I was putting my bag in the small cabinet beneath it when the bell rang, signalling my first customer. I jumped up and my face fell.
Stood before me was none other than Ace and Diesel. Remembering that I was at work I forced a toothy-smile onto my face. Diesel genuinely smiled back where as Ace wore his signature smirk. "Good Afternoon, welcome to Mels!" I chirped. "I am your server Ava, is it just a table for two today?"
Ace struggled to contain his laughter at my customer service voice and I could feel myself become annoyed, I was trying so hard to not scream at them and tell them to get out. I wouldn't of minded Diesel and one of the other boys but the sight of Aces cocky face infuriated me.
"Just two please." Ace taunted, folding his arms over one another.
"If you'll just follow me please." I told them sweetly picking up two menus and heading further into the diner, to escort them to their table. I picked the one furthest away from the kitchen and placed them right by the window, as far away from me as possible.
"Sorry but is there a seat closer to the bar?" Ace asked, smiling at me knowingly and I found myself grinding my teeth in annoyance. He was enjoying winding me up and I was having a hard time ignoring him.
"Of course." I smiled again, my face was actually beginning to hurt from smiling so much. "If you'll just follow me."
I brought them to a table by the bar but made sure that there was enough distance so that they couldn't distract me and I could actually focus on work. "Is this okay sir?"
Calling him sir was the last straw and they both burst out laughing, I bit the corner of my mouth as my face burned with anger. Everyone was now looking over to see what was so funny and right now it was me. "Perfect." Ace chuckled before sliding into the booth, Diesel sliding in opposite him.
I noticed Charlie out of the corner of my eye, he was watching me closely and when our eyes met he signalled for me to come over. I smiled at him, letting him know that I'd be with him in a second. "Here are your menus today, just call me over if there's anything else I can help you with." I told them, still smiling. "I'll be over shortly to take your orders."
Ace nodded, the smirk still plastered across his face. Oh how I'd love to slap it off of his face I thought as I headed in Charlie's direction who was stood in the kitchen doorway.
"Do you know these guys?" He asked, looking over at them warily. I sighed before nodding and cringing at the worried look that had taken over my bosses face.
"Yeah, sorry." I apologised. "They're my brothers friends."
"Your brother is apart of inferno kings?" His face was more than shocked and I could feel the dread seeping into my body.
