Forever

"Mmm?"

"Don't tell anyone but I would do anything for you." He whispers.

I grip his hand a little tighter letting out a breathy chuckle.

"As I would for you." I close my eyes.

"You sure everything's alright baby?" I ask quietly.

He hums softly to the music. "Everything's fine."

He brings both of his hands down, placing them on the small of my back as I wrap my arms around his neck.

"Promise me" he clears his throat for a moment. "That you won't ever go away." He says.

"If you can promise me the same thing."

I feel him slightly tense in my arms and his heartbeat pick up in his chest.

I know he had this idea of how his life would turn out.

Work for the village, protect the village, die for the village.

But it's not so simple anymore. He knows that I can't ever lose him. He has a responsibility to someone now.

To stay alive. For me. To stay and love me so that I can love him back. Forever.

My fingers trace over the back of his neck, soothing him as I feel him relax again.

"I'm not going anywhere."

His words seem sincere and his arms offer me comfort as we dance slowly in the middle of our kitchen.

But I can't help the knot that forms in my lower stomach. I try to push down the uneasy feeling that's settled deep inside of my chest. I shrug it off as nothing more than the tummy sickness I've been dealing with the past few weeks.

Besides, the anxiety is for no reason whatsoever. I'm never letting Kakashi go.

I'll be damned if I ever let him leave me.

"Are you sure you're okay with me going?" Kakashi says as I apply the finishing touches to my make up.

"I could stay home, and you could cancel on them and we could just stay in bed?"

I side eye him through the reflection in the mirror, gliding on my lip gloss.

"Sakura would be so pissed if I canceled. Besides, if Guy and Asuma invited you out for drinks, you should go."

I smack my lips together once before turning to face him.

"Its healthy for us to hang out with people other than each other every once in a while."

His shoulders slump forward and he pouts for a moment.

"I don't wanna hang out with anyone else." He whines. "I only like you."

I giggle as I reach out to him and put my hands against his cheeks, squeezing his face together.

"I only like you too. But don't tell anyone that." I wink at him.

"You should go. You're supposed to meet them in 15 minutes."

He glances in the mirror, tussling his hair once more and sighs.

"Fine, I guess. What time are you leaving?" He walks out into the bedroom as I follow behind him.

"I just gotta get dressed and then try to eat something and then I'm leaving." He tugs lightly at the towel wrapped around my body.

"Can you text me when you leave?"

I nod my head and he leans in to plant a soft kiss against my lips.

He pulls away and I laugh as I wipe the transferred lipgloss off of his mouth.

"Check in with me throughout the night too?" He says.

"Of course baby." My thumb caresses his cheek softly. He takes my hand and kisses the back of it.

"I love you so much." He whispers, looking down at me with soft eyes.

Kakashi never fails to give me butterflies.

"I love you so much more. Have a good time tonight."

He smiles at me as he turns to walk towards the front door.

"You too beautiful!"
