Return of an old friend

Ezra!?

The Jedi and Mandalorian stand outside the door of the cell where they believe their close friend Ezra is being held.

Ahsoka looks at Sabine worried, "are you sure you can go through with this he is unlikely to be the same man as he left Lothal after all he has spent 5 years being tortured"

Sabine glares at her knowing she is telling the truth "i am sure i can go through with this Ahsoka, now lets get Ezra out of here"

Sabine hacks the terminal that controls the door opening the door to reveal a man with long hair and a beard unconscious in a pool of his own blood with multiple cuts on his face and scars over his half naked body, Sabine has a look of anger, regret and love on her face when she sees the half naked Jedi on the floor.

Sabine runs to his side lifting his head making him scream out in pain 

Ezra half opens his eyes "what do you want? i have been staying here as you have requested, why do you torture me everyday?"

Sabine looks mortified at him "Ezra, it is me I am here to rescue you"

Ezra says to her "Bine? i dont want this, this is a dream you can not be here your dead"

Sabine looks confused as she pulls him in making him yell out in pain even more 

"i am sorry Ezra for everything" Sabine says to him 

Ahsoka turns to them and says "it is touching when you 2 bond however we are still on an imperial cruiser and need to get out of here"

Sabine tries to lift Ezra which makes him lash out in anger from the pain forcing Ahsoka to knock out Ezra using the force allowing them to transport him to their ship where they encounter Thrawn in the hangar.

Thrawn says to them "where are you taking my prisoner?"

Sabine yells back "he is not your prisoner he is my friend and he is coming with us"

Thrawn simply looks at them "go, i have what i needed your friend helped me to survive the Purgill attack but also taught me that strategy is not everything in battle"

Sabine and Ahsoka take Ezra aboard their ship and fly out of the hangar when Thrawn orders the ships batteries to fire on them as soon as they leave, as the rebels prepare to jump to hyperspace their engine is hit by a laser bolt forcing them out of hyperspace just above Ilum ancient world of the Jedi.

Ahsoka looks at Sabine "land here, we will be safe i know this world it is where Jedi younglings come to get their crystals or they did before the Empire"

Sabine looks at her before landing the ship, once the ship is landed she runs to Ezra using some of the ships limited medical supplies to heal some of the wounds he has including a scar on is face and lower torso, she runs a test on his blood to find if he has been drugged with anything 

Sabine stands up going to the front of the ship to the communications desk 

Sabine says into the comm "this is Sabine Wren of House Viszla, calling clan Wren we are stranded on Ilum with an injured person we need immediate support"

a few minutes go by with nothing said before the peace is interrupted 

"Sabine Wren, this is Luke Skywalker i am in the system, who is the injured person?"

"Luke, the injured man is Ezra Bridger a Jedi" Sabine says worried 

"a Jedi? are you certain?" Luke says back in disbelief 

"i am certain he is a very close friend of mine" Sabine says back 

"i am on my way, it may take until morning so i recommend finding shelter for the night"

Sabine and Ahsoka help Ezra walk into the Jedi Temple where he has a vision of Kanan, Yoda, Obi Wan and Anakin talking to him 

"come join us" Kanan says 

"Ezra, follow the force and become one with it" Obi Wan says 

"join us you must padawan" Yoda says

"Ezra, use the force to assist you, your friends need you" Anakin says to him 

soon Ezras eyes shoot open in the middle of the cave where he embraces Sabine much to her shock before she melts into the hug, his body heat giving her warmth in the cold cave 

"i have missed you Sabine, more than anyone else" he says to her shivering

"Ezra, i spent 5 years waiting for you but i missed you too" she says hugging into him even deeper 

"Sabine, I love you" he says to her 

"Ezra, if this is you on the drugs talking then i" Sabine says before she is interrupted by the soft touch of Ezras lips making contact with hers, the kiss was soft never demanding that was when she knew this was the Ezra she knew therefore she melted into the kiss as they sat on the floor hugging.

"Ezra, i love you too i always have since the first time you came on board the Ghost but Mandalorians love for life and i did not know how to show it to you and for that i am sorry" she says to him sadly

"Sabine, you have no reason to be sorry, at first I was unsure myself of how i felt but then after missions with you and being with you i knew you were the only one for me" he says sadly

the two embrace each other deeply falling asleep in each others arms with Sabine burying her head in Ezras chest.
