I didn't even realize this until people pointed this out in the comments- but this story actually has a happy ending! That's a first lol

Every time you told a joke, she laughed. It was the purest sound, the sweetest of melodies. You loved her, but you were only the comedic relief (that sometimes doubled as a therapist.)

This time around, you were the therapist. She told you her problems, but you just couldn't keep your mind off of her. It was these small moments that made you giddy with joy.

Her hair fell in waves across her shoulders, her eyes the color of honeyed skies. You leaned a little closer just to smell her vanilla perfume.

"Thank you y/n...I know this took a lot of time," she said.

You wanted to pour your heart out, to let her know that she wasn't a burden. She never was. But the odds of you two being together were slim, and you weren't good at taking chances.

"No worries." You winked.

Time flew by white you talked to her. It was already sunset, and you two watched in comfortable silence.

She turned to you.

And pressed her lips to yours.
