Chapter 9: Note To Self: Don't Deliver Mail To Celebrities

Start from the beginning

The Bubbler growls, firing his bubbles at him but missing every time.

"Could use a little work. Is that all you got?" Cat Noir loudly taunts.

I run back to Ladybug still holding the wrench, completely dumbfounded.

"We gotta find a way to distract him," I suggest. "Maybe one of us can challenge him to a dance off and take the sword while he's distracted. Peter Quill did it."

Suddenly her eyes light up. "Wait, I got it!"

She runs over to a huge pipe, using the wrench to unscrew the plug. The pipe breaks loose, spewing freezing air all over the place. "Cat Noir, cover me!"

"On it!"

He leaps down from the ledge he's perched on, grabbing the pipe and aiming it at the Bubbler like a bazooka.

"Makwa!" she commands, pointing at the Bubbler.

It takes me a second before I realize what she wants me to do.

I pull my daggers out with a menacing look in my eyes, uttering a war cry.

Hopping onto the roof he's on, my instincts kick in and I start slashing the bubbles aimed at my face and dance like a tornado, the same way our powwow dancers do. As I defend myself with the same strength my ancestors had so long ago, the Bubbler scoffs at me.

"Dude, what the heck are you doing?"

"Dance off, bro! Me and you!" I yell.

"You're being a total idiot! What exactly are you doing?!"

"I'm distracting you, you big turd blossom! With the power of dance!"

I lunge at him and use the pommel of my dagger to jerk his blade up, causing him to lose his grip on the handle.

Ladybug throws her yo-yo at it, yanking it towards her and snapping it on her kneecap. "No more evil-doing for you, little akuma."

We fist bump after Ladybug de-evilizes the akuma and the ladybugs revert everything back to normal. "Pound it!"

"Are you okay?" Cat Noir asks me with a tinge of worry in his voice. "Does anything hurt? I saw the bubble come at you and-"

"Kit Kat, I'm fine," I assure him. "I just need to be faster next time, that's all."

He raises an eyebrow. "Are you suuuuuuure?"

I nod. "Yes. I'm tougher than I look."

He sighs in relief. "Alright. I'm just happy to hear you're in purr-fect condition."

I roll my eyes playfully. "Your puns are claw-ful.

"But your dancing is so beautiful," Cat Noir sighs gently. "I've never seen anything like it before."

I blush. "Oh. Well, thank you."

Ladybug looks at the former villain on the roof. "Alright, who's taking him home?"

Home. That sounds so nice right now. Oh my gods, Mom! I wonder if she's okay! She should be, but I need to know.

Every inch of me itches to run straight home to see if Mom's okay. But I nevertheless raise my hand.

"I volunteer as tribute."

"You sure?" Cat Noir questions. "I can take him if you want. That way you can go home and rest."

I reluctantly nod. "Yeah, it'll be easy, I promise."

"Alright then. See you lovebirds later!" Ladybug teases.
