I Name Thee Dragward

All I got was from Edward was a roar in response, which isn't exactly very communicative. This was not going according to the plan... not even one bit, except for maybe the sword as bait.

"Let's talk about this! We could go to therapy classes!" I yelled at him, hoping against all hopes that he would say yes.

Instead he just swung his huge tail at me. I would have flown away from the tail's direction but I couldn't leave Andromeda. I gathered my strength and pushed my hand forward, creating a force field ahead of me.

The dragon's tail hit the barrier and the shockwave sent both the tail and me back. I flew across the cavern floor and hit a pillar of stone on the other side. Pain flooded through my body and I let out a shrill scream. Ed however, looked completely fine.

I got up, breathing heavily, and pointed my hand at Andromeda, channelling power to her. Andromeda started to hover in air and I swiped my hand, making her dash across the cavern. I set her down safely on one of the far corners of the cave, praying that she would be safe for now.

I turned in time to receive a powerful kick from a three thousand pound leg. I was again sent flying across the room and this time, spit out blood. I noticed that my blood had some sort of a glow to it. But I decided that was a matter for another time.

I knew that the force of that kick would kill any mere mortal ten times over. I walked a step before a sharp pain sprung in my chest. It was the familiar feeling of a broken rib . Every breath I took caused a bit of pain. I just ignored it and decided to focus on staying alive.

I turned towards Edward the dragon... or Dragward if you will, and extended my wings.

I set my eyes on him and ran towards him, flapping my wings to provide thrust. One of the heads, which was second to the left, of the dragon roared at me and sprung fire. The fire was a dazzling blue and I knew the moment I saw it that I didn't want it to touch me.

With a great beat of my wings, I jumped as high as I could, narrowly escaping the fire. I kept beating my wings and neared Ed. One of the heads which was in the extreme right, snarled at me and sent out a long beam of water beam of water from its mouth. Generally water would not affect me but something about this water was different.

It  reminded me of the water from my fight with Polybotes but much worse. The  water gave off its own aura of decay and death. I didn't have time to react before the water hit me.

It engulfed me and for the first few seconds, all I felt was pain. The water was like acid, eating away my skin. It surrounded me and I felt my strength drain from me.

I tried to control the water but it completely resisted my influence. In a desperate move, I formed a layer of hellfire around me. The hellfire vaporised any water that came close to me. But sustaining the hellfire was taking a toll on my already low energy levels.

In a an attempt to get free, I used my wings as paddles to push myself out of the water bubble I was in. Fortunately it worked and I fell down to the floor. I tried to flap my wings in order to slow my decent but instead received sharp sensations of ache from my shoulder joints.

I hit the ground with a loud thud and I'm dam sure I sprained my ankle. I looked at my wings and let out a soft gasp at what I saw. My wings were smouldering and lost many of its feathers. It looked charred in many places and I doubt a bit of ambrosia would be able to heal it.

I knew I had to finish the fight with Ed before my adrenaline rush wore out. I got up and with my shaking hands, held the Sword of Eden and tucked what was left of my wings. Edwards gave out, what I could only assume as, a laugh.

He kept laughing in an evil tone and his form started to change. He started becoming smaller and his features compressed together and shrunk. In a minute, standing a hundred feet ahead of me, was Edward in his human form. But this time, he was without a hood.

His face was elegant and radiated beauty. His eyes were crystal balls of fiery red. His hair was something you couldn't miss. He had deep brown hair but there were streaks of Ivory. I saw ten of them and I knew that those were his infernal horns. The aura that he gave off, made me want to fall down on my knees and listen to whatever he said.

"You look like you've seen a ghost...or a dragon" said Edward in a dark voice, walking towards me.

I was too tired to answer. When he got close enough I swung my sword at him with everything I had left but he just raised his palm and I was pushed back a few feet. It felt like being sucker punched to the chest. I coughed up some more blood and groaned. Edward laughed again, clearly enjoying my suffering.

"What should I do you?" he asked, emphasising each word while getting down on one knee next to me. He dragged one of his finger across the side of my face and his sharp nail drew a trail of blood.

"Such a pretty face...I doubt you would last a few hundred years here. It would piss off father sooooo much, now that I have his precious light bringer. I'm going to enjoy killing you slowly...piece by piece" he said.

He raised his hand and was about to bring it down on me but out of nowhere, a blow of light hit the side of Ed's face and sent him flying across to the other part of the cave. He hit against a wall and fell on the ground and by the looks of it, was unconscious.

My eyes widened, I turned towards my 'saviour'. If possible, my eyes widened even more in surprise. Standing in front of me...was a tall, lean, auburn haired girl with kaleidoscopic eyes. In her arms was the staff that I had come here for... the staff that was the root cause of my present situation. In her arms, lay the Staff of Moses.

She twirled the staff in her hand before embedding it into the ground  and looking at me. Seeing her gorgeous face made my heart skip a beat.

"There you are, Kelp head" said Andromeda. [[{ I wanted to end here...but I decided to give you guys a little treat }]]

Shaking, I got to my feet and took her hands in mine. I looked her dead in the eye before speaking. "It's really you... well at least the awake you." I said and she laughed.

Her laugh reminded me of all the good memories in my life. It made all my pain go away and a sense of calm came over me. I knew what I had to do... and I was gonna do it. I kept staring into those kaleidoscopic eyes that you could get lost in. She looked at me and our eyes locked for a minute.

I couldn't hear anything else except for the loud thumping of my heart and I honestly didn't care. All that mattered was Andromeda and she was right in front of me. I leaned in slightly and so did she. Our lips got closer and closer and finally...

                             We kissed.
