DON'T READ THIS BOOK - IF YOU'RE STILL INTERESTED GO READ THE OTHER JAMES AND LILY BOOK ON MY PAGE, IT IS SO MUCH BETTER WRITTEN. THERE AREN'T AS MANY PAGES ON IT, SO FEEL FREE TO STILL READ THIS, BUT THE OTHER ONE IS BETTER.

I awoke to the sound of birds chirping, the golden sunlight shining through my window. I crept out of bed as not to wake up the others, and slowly and as quietly as I possibly could I began to get ready for the day.

Carefully picking up my hairbrush, I began gently brushing through my red hair, the sunlight bouncing off it as I tossed it behind my shoulder.

"I wonder what today will bring." I thought absent-mindedly. I snorted quietly to myself. Oh come off it, what 'today will bring' will be the same thing that happens every day of every year of Hogwarts so far.

I get up, get ready, walk down to breakfast, James Potter asks me out, I say no, I eat breakfast, and go to all my lessons.

Why should today be any different?

As if on cue, Marlene awoke with a yawn. Her grey-blue eyes adjusting to the sun, squinting as me as if half blind, she slowly acknowledged that I was sat, fully dressed and ready, and slowly looked down at her blue satin pyjamas, still sat in her bed.

"Good grief Lily! How on earth do you manage to wake up so early and still manage to look so stunning at this hour?" she said with a wink.

Majestically, she threw the covers off of her body and jumped out of bed. Sliding her feet into her fuzzy slippers, she began making her way to her drawers where she began carefully taking out her uniform, humming the tune to a merry song.

"Not as stunning as you darling." I replied casually, picking up a tube of lip balm and applying some to my lips slowly.

Marlene hummed in response, taking off her pyjamas and tossing them on the floor. Marlene was a very open and lively character, always said what she thought, never shy to show off. And - of course - stunningly beautiful.

Once dressed, I turned slightly to face her.

"How are you and Frank doing, Marls?" I asked.

She looked at me and thought for a moment. "Alright. You know Frank, sweet, kind, loving, he's got a lovely soul." she said, but could tell there was more coming. "I just.. want a bit more.. you know? He's a lovely bloke, but I don't think we're perfect. I think I need someone with a bit more..." she paused, searching for the right word.

"Excitement? Adventure?" I offered.

Marlene grinned.

"Yes. Exactly."

Marlene McKinnon has been my best friend at Hogwarts ever since first year when I stepped into my dormitory for the first time, to see a beautiful girl with glossy, blond curls smiling the warmest smile at me.

She's my best friend, my platonic soulmate, my partner in life.

And of course, Mary, Dorcas and Alice. I love them all to pieces, but nothing compares to Marlene and I. I love them so much - I would do anything for these girls.

Alice awoke with a stretch.

"Morning lovelies." she said sleepily. Alice had a kind face with warm, brown eyes, defined cheekbones and freckles across her nose. Her thick, brown hair was as long as her waist in pretty long waves.

"Good morning dear." Marlene greeted, carefully removing her hair rollers, her hair, obviously, looking as perfect as can be.

Alice rose from her bed, not quite as elegantly as Marlene, but lovely all the same.
