Two days before Las Vegas:

"Ayo Spence" Coop called out as Spencer answered the phone. Holding the phone away from his ear, she yelled his name. "What's going on Coop. How's tour treating you?" He asked when he could just imagine the grin she had on her face. "Man you wouldn't believe the cities we have seen. And the crowd, man they've been hella nice. Like they actually engage and stuff. I'm hype man". Yelling "Good morning Brooklyn". "Damn Coop you're going to blow my eardrum with all this yelling". "Your just jealous" slamming herself on the bed. "Naw man I'm proud of you. You've been dreaming about this summer ever since we were little. You always said if I ever leave Crenshaw you best believe you're going to see my name on billboards" Coop mimicked those same words.

"I'm working on it. Yo Layla doesn't stop. She's on it and doesn't let me breathe. I told her I needed my own room for a few nights to actually get some rest. Like how does she expect me to perform my best if I can't get any rest around here? She's crazy but sharing a room with her is on another level" Coop said when she heard a knock at her door. "Must be room service. Oh, I'm hella hyped for the pancakes I'm about to have. Did you know that in these fancy hotels, people actually bring you the food? Like what, man white folks have it easy these days" she laughed shoving food down her mouth.

"She's doing good though?" Spencer asked as Dillon ran up to him. "Yo Spence let me talk to Coop," Dillon said trying to snatch the phone from his hand. Dodging his hands, Spencer wraps his arms around Dillon holding him tightly. "Other than the fact that she's so bossy as if she had a stick up her booty, yeah she's been good. She's been busy running me around and drivin me crazy. As a matter of fact, why don't you get your booty to New York? Wait you two haven't talked?" She asked with a mouth full of pancakes. "Naw, I've been busy you know with Dillon and work. "Hmm, nothing else on your mind?" She asked as if she already knew the answer. "Yo coop, get me a souvenir" Dillon yelled out when Spencer pushed him on the bed.

"What? Dillon, you must be playin. Boy if you don't...when I get back to Crenshaw we goin to have a talk" she yelled out. "Hey, Dillon you hear that she goin to whoop you" Dillon started to laugh. "Who Ms. 4 foot 7, yeah okay, we'll see about that" cracking himself up, he slapped his knees making his way back to the living room. "Man, he's something else. So, no other person on your mind these days?" She pried when Spencer laughed. "Oh, you hear that? I think Dillon's calling my name" Spencer called for Dillon. "Coming" he yelled. "Not calling you" Dillon answered. "Boy shut up" Spencer yelled.  "Oh I see what you doing, you're trying to" cutting her off mid-sentence. "Later coop," he said before ending the call.

Plopping himself onto the couch next to Dillon, wrapping him into a knuckle sandwich. "Ayo watch the fresh-cut g. I got to talk to the ladies in a few and you can't mess with the new cut. Ladies love a fresh fade" he said smoothing out his hair. Giving him an estranged glare, Spencer couldn't help but laugh. "Man whatever" you know the only girl you talk nice to is mom," Spencer said the moment they heard a knock at the door. "Man, yeah right I bet that's one right now," he said crossing his arms. "Oh I'm sure," said Spencer opening the door to see Liv looking beautiful as always.

Giving him the biggest grin, leaning in for a hug, Dillon intercepted pushing Spencer out of the way and slamming into Liv. Squeezing him tightly she gazed at Spencer giving him a sad smile. "Sorry Spence but Dillon always comes first," she said when he smiled leaning on the doorframe, he crossed his arms watching Olivia. "That's cold, but I can't blame you. He's a sweetheart". "It must run in the James household" she replied when he smiled. "I wanted to see if the both of you wanted to go to lunch with me? I was thinking a trip to the mall sounds nice. Vegas is this weekend and I need to go shopping. What do you think?" She asked when the both of them glanced at each other and shrugged.

"I mean I guess we could squeeze you into our movie marathon" Spencer flashed a grin as her cheeks turned rosy pink. Dillon jumped in excitement as he ran inside to grab his shoes."Don't leave me, I'll be dressed in a minute" he yelled when both Spencer and she laughed. "I don't see you often in my part of town. It's a nice change. I was actually going to see if you wanted to watch a movie with us tonight" slowly walking over to her. Now only a foot apart, Olivia's heart raced as his gaze fell on hers.

She could never hide her emotions around him and with every wall that she had built, it always came crumbling down. There was something about the way he spoke to her and his smile, that made it hard for her to resist. She'd never been vulnerable with anyone. She kept to herself as it was always hard for her to let anyone in, but somehow Spencer knew the right words to always say. And if she tried, he'd always find a way to bring it out of her.

She'd been in denial all summer but the feelings she kept dormant of wanting to be more than friends, slowly rose, and with every day, her feelings only grew stronger. Making it harder to see her life without him. She'd knew deep down he was still in love with Layla and she had fought her feelings with Asher, which made the last few weeks even more difficult. Trying to shut off her feelings for him, made her want him even more. Wrapping his arms around her, she breathed deeply. As if the only time they'd both ever felt safe was in each other's arms. Shutting her eyes she smiled.

"A movie night sounds nice. It's a date" she blurted before quickly realizing what she said. In an instant she pulled him away as she stumbled on her words." I meant" he stopped her mid-sentence. "It's a date liv " he grinned when she couldn't help but smile. "It's a date then". Spencer let out a laugh as she squirmed.

He could not lie to himself that he loved to see liv uncomfortable and any mention of a date made her nervous. Although he played it as a date with a close friend, deep down he wished it was more. But he wanted to be a gentleman and consider her boundaries. He wanted it to come natural and on her pace when the time was right. Even if it meant staying friends for longer. He wanted to fully feel she was ready before ever jumping in. He was nervous if they went too fast too soon, he could ruin their relationship causing her to relapse. Which had always been his fear. Liv was the second most important girl in his world. She had always held a special place in his heart. A place he'd never shared with anyone except for her. The only person he could ever be real with. Their fingers grazed as he interlaced his hand in hers. The sound of footsteps rushing to the door quickly made the both of them snap back a few feet as they both turned to see Dillon rushing past them.

"Well, what are you waiting for? I got a pretzel calling my name" Dillon yelled turning back, Spencer let out a laugh. Locking up the house the three of them got into the car while liv drove out of Crenshaw.
