Chapter 52 Arlo, Isen and Zari

*Later that day, Roof*
Arlo was standing in front of the fence. "....."

"I'll start by tearing down your perciopreciousus system." John states.

"I know Zane and Zari could stop me. But they owe me a favour." John smiles.

They're calling him Joker!

Arlo sighs. The door to the roof opens. Arlo looks back to see Isen.

"Isen. What are you doing here?" Arlo asks.

"Please.... Please tell me you have a plan for John?" Isen asks.

"......." "He's just throwing a tantrum. Leave him. He'll get over himself soon." Arlo says.

"....." "No, he won't. He wiped Blyke out in front of everyone! Do you really think he cares about anything anymore?" Isen asks.

"....." Arlo crosses his arms.

"You have to stop being so passive with him! If you don't do anything about this soon..... He's gonna repeat what he did at his old school!" Isen says.

"Old school? What are you talking about? What happened?" Arlo asks.

"Uh... He was the King at New Boston. And the way it ended... He beat his own subjects to a pulp and, got himself expelled." Isen explains.

"John is messed up in the head! He's dangerous!" Isen states.

"......."

"And he's uncontrollable. Especially if he's got his mind set on something!" Isen says.

Arlo eyes glow.

".......!" Isen gets trapped in a barrier.

The barrier shrinks and Isen falls down.

"You knew all this for how long...? And didn't even try to warn me? Nice of you to finally report this, now that you and your friend are in danger." Arlo says.

"......" Isen looks down.

"What good is this information to me? it's too late! I've already lost to him!" Arlo clenches his teeth.

"......." Isen looks surprised. "I-I'm sorry Arlo! I just didn't want to disrupt anything back then! It was enough that Zane and Zari came to Wellston with the whole Ember situation. B-But I never expected things to turn out like this!"

"Save your excuses! If you don't have anything useful to say, then leave." Arlo turns his back on Isen.

The barrier disappears.

"......" "John may be the strongest student in Wellston.... But you can't let that dictate everything! You have to fight back! If he takes the throne, nothing good will come out of it. No matter what, you can't let that happen." Isen says.

Arlo clenches his hand on the gate. "What is there to do?"

"Maybe we can ask Zane and Zari to step in. They could stop him." Isen says.

"No. They won't." Arlo says. "You were there. Remember? Zane and Zari stated that they won't interfere since this is Wellston's problem."

"But even they know he must be stopped. Why not ask them to stop John?" Isen asks.

"It would be a waste of time. Zane and Zari knew from the start. They knew about his ability. Even their team knew. They aren't stepping in. Especially when John used his 'favor' that they owed him." Arlo says.

Isen looked surprised and a bit worried. "So we have no chance then....."

"No you don't." a female voice says.

Arlo and Isen look to see Zari landing down.

"Zari. why are you here?" Arlo asks.

"Couldn't help hear the conversation. It was really interesting. Even though Isen was stupid enough to do what he did." Zari shrugs.

"Zari..... Why let John do this?" Isen stands up. "You know how dangerous he is."

"I know. Zane knows. Heck! Even my mother knows." Zari says. "But you don't get it. None of you in this school knows. This was caused by all of you and the way you treat 'cripples'. Don't go boasting about the hierarchy being a natural order blah blah blah. You don't even realize what the hierarchy does around the world. Why do you think so many powerful criminals appear? Why do you think the low and mid tiers become evil? It's because of the hierarchy. Several cases occurred that are similar to John."

"This isn't the outside world Zari. This is school." Isen says.

"And yet, what's the difference being in school and out in the world?" Zari asks.

Arlo and Isen stay silent.

"I thought so. Besides, all high-tiers act all mighty and cocky until someone stronger shows up and beats them down." Zari looks at Arlo. "And when someone is acting like John in any way, he/she is claimed to be a 'monster'. Well, who was responsible into making him become like that?"

"The hierarchy." Isen says.

"Bingo. Not just that. There are a couple other reasons. Just know, the stage is set. And there's nothing you can do to stop the show from running. You'll just have to wait and let the show finish. Maybe it'll finally open your eyes on the flaws of the hierarchy instead of following it like mindless puppets." Zari says as she flies away.
