build a bear | hanamaki takahiro

"y/n, i swear- this is the best idea i've ever had!" hanamaki reassures as he drags you into the mall on valentine's day afternoon.

"hiro, if it's something stupid-"

"when is it ever something stupid?!"

"always? last valentine's day, you surprised me with a homemade pie, then proceeded to smash it in my face."

hanamaki snickers. "you gotta admit, it was funny!"

"not when you're the one getting pied! only you laughed." you cross your arms.

"i told you to get me back and you never took the offer, it's your fault."

"ah- fuck you."

"when~"

"oh my god, it's a struggle dating you." you playfully roll your eyes.

"you know you love me~ now, close your eyes.." hanamaki stops pulling you just to slip behind you and cover your eyes, walking you the rest of the way.

after a few minutes of walking and taking turns left and right, hanamaki lifts his hands from your eyes.

"we've arrived to our destination." he says in a robotic voice, quite like a gps. you open your eyes to the build-a-bear logo.

"aww, makki~.." you look to hanamaki with a pout, poking his shoulder. "this is so cute, i didn't think you'd be capable of this."

"wow- but, i knew you'd love it! i've been waiting like.. two days for this, so let's make the most-"

"two days?"

"yeah, it was last minute.."

you look at hanamaki in disbelief, sighing. "atleast you're honest."

"honesty is my best quality! but seriously, let's go~" hanamaki holds his hand down to yours, interlocking your fingers with his afterwards.

the two of you head to the bear body section, picking out ones that resemble yourselves.

"what if we get toothless and light fury?" hanamaki questions.

"you're saying i remind you of a dragon?" you say with a small giggle.

"no, i just liked the movie!" hanamaki says with a chuckle.

after finding bears with the same hair colors as the two of you have, you head over to the stuffing station to complete the stuffed animal. the worker hands each of you a heart, able to hold a voice message. hanamaki takes up that offer without hesitation.

"baby, i love you so much. even though i'm not serious someti- most.. of the time, i can't wait to build a future with you, love." hanamaki finishes off by kissing the red heart, putting it into the opening of the stuffed bear as you do the same with your bear, saying a message quite similar.

the two of you head to the cash register to pay for the bears, hanamaki's treat. the cashier boxes up the bears, you and hanamaki taking your leave afterwards.

"thank you for a great valentine's day, makki."

"anything for my favorite!" hanamaki ends the date with a kiss on your cheek. "but we're not done yet~"
