Ever the curious one, Yu Yan asked about what other types of world trajectories there are.

The female voice hummed. "Well, there are a few like duplicate trajectories, emergence trajectories, rejects—"

"Rejects?" Yu Yan perked up.

There was a moment of silence, as if the voice was contemplating.

"When an emergence or original book is born, it's own shelf is born along with it to accommodate the many potentialities that the new world may offer. But if the world has been stagnant for too long, incomplete, or unable to provide any other trajectory, then it is classified as a rejected trajectory."

"I see. What happens after this? How long will this contract last?"

"We offer a lifetime contract. It ends as soon as you die a natural death in that world. Of course, to be able to efficiently work, we will provide you a healthy body, immune of diseases. But other than that, we cannot intervene, as We,  Gods, are not allowed to do so."

"And if I wanted to prolong the contract?"

A laugh echoes in Yu Yan's mind. "Well, of course, we'll more than welcome you to work on another world, as we are in short of hands at the moment. But one thing—another criteria the system heavily based upon choosing is the amount of regret the other person has. Should you live your life there to the fullest, then your regret is eradicated, and thus, you're no longer qualified to work according to the system. This is why we seldom have full-timers here."

Yu Yan's lips parted, but there were no words. His thoughts were indecipherable.

"Of course, if you still have regrets even after your first world, then we'll welcome you warmly into Heaven's Library and extend your contract. After a set of number of worlds, you'll be given the chance to sign a full-timer's contract. We can discuss the contents of the contract then, but that's all assuming that your regret is big enough to refuse eradication in one world."

It sounded complicated to Yu Yan. He felt that he can simply live in just one world and be done with every regret he had, but the reassurance of living to eradicate his regret somehow eased him. It didn't matter as long as he can finally live freely!

"What if I decide that I don't want to?"

Another laugh sounded. The female voice could tell that Yu Yan had already decided and wanted to enter the world immediately but it did not expose him, although the curiosity and eagerness were indeed leaking out of his eyes.

"Of course, you can also decline and reincarnate back at your old world. But if you do take on the job, you'll know that We guarantee lots of benefits~. Now then, what will you decide?" It may have sounded like the female voice was baiting Yu Yan into accepting, but in reality, it was only teasing  him.

"Alright. I'll accept the job." Yu Yan closed the second book, put it down, walked to the right, and placed his hand on the third book's cover. "I'm allowed to choose between these three books right? Then, let me choose this third. I'm quite curious about medicine and this modern world."

"Great~! Then, please express your willingness to enter the world trajectory and focus it upon the book while you're holding it."

Yu Yan glared at the book in his hands. Without opening the pages, he stared at the medicine and the hospital at the background quite intently. Slowly, his consciousness began to sleep, and his soul was successfully transmigrated.

"Congratulations. Now then", the female voice sighed. "Let's take a break and find out where that slacker has gone to this time."

In the quiet corridors of Heaven's Library, the white robes of a short-haired lady swoosh by as she tip-toes her way to the one of the most unvisited shelves in the whole library. As if to rub salt in it, the shelf opposite it was a thriving one that had a sky-high level of shelf and multiple books.
