BONNIE REFUSED TO leave Sirius's side. After Madame Pomfrey could not tend to Sirius any longer, the man was sent to St. Mungo's in critical condition. He was hardly breathing on his own, the Healers doing everything they could to undo the dark scars from Bellatrix.

That was not the only reason she refused to leave his side as he laid unmoving.

She received a letter with a mesage on it that had her blood running cold.

His time is short. Better watch, dear sister, or I'll finish him off in the night. Who's to stop me? I'll see you soon.

With everything, she had forgotten about Christopher still lurking in the shadows. She did not see him at Hogwarts when his leader was destroyed, but she had not been thinking of him then.

Now, Frank promised, besides James, there would be Aurors around Sirius's room to make sure Christopher had no chance in hell to get in. Bonnie did not want to take any chances, however, so she had yet to leave the hospital room.

She held Sirius's cold hand, longing for him to wake up. The ebony-haired man laid peacefully, with a small smile on his face. Bonnie could not help but push some hair back that had fallen over his eyes. She sighed; seeing him like this physically hurt her because she did not know what she could do without him.

Two weeks later, it was November, and Sirius was doing better after his twenty-first birthday. He still was asleep, but he was growing stronger. The Healers said he would wake soon, but the induced coma was stronger since he had so many injuries. Bonnie left only James, Lily, and Remus alone with Sirius when she would be forced home to change and shower. Bonnie trusted no one else around her Sirius.

In November of 1980, Alice and Frank were expecting. It was easy, now, to picture their future with no lunatic trying to control the world. Sure, there were a few Death Eaters still lingering in the shadows to be caught, but there was no more fear now that Tom Riddle was dead.

Bellatrix had been taken to Azkaban to rot, and by Godric, Bonnie hope she rotted.

Lucius Malfoy was still alive and free, though, to his dismay, his wand was snapped. Any magic detected from him, and he would be sent to Azkaban. The only reason he was free was because of Narcissa's help in the Order and their son on the way.

Bonnie walked back into Sirius's room to find Remus and Maxwell talking to Sirius's body.

"Any improvement?"

Remus shook his head. "He twitched a bit when Max started talking, but nothing else."

"Yeah, he does that when I talk, too," Bonnie said with a light laugh. She sat next to Remus, pulling Maxwell onto her lap. "Where'd Lily and James go?"

"Lily was feeling nauseated," Remus said with a smirk.

Bonnie almost threw Maxwell from her lap as she squealed. "It's happening!" She looked to Sirius's body. "You hear that, sweetheart? You're going to be a godfather! Isn't that something to wake up for?"

Sirius's nose twitched.

"He's trying," Remus sighed. "It's odd. I've been in a few comas myself, and the darkness you see but the voices you hear... it's a magic all in itself."

When Remus went home as Maxwell fell asleep on his shoulder, Bonnie saw the red-head walk in with the brightest smile on her face. The bespectacled husband followed, both pulling Bonnie into the biggest mush of a hug.

Lily began to sob. "Thank you, Bonnie. Thank you so much."

Bonnie felt tears spring in her eyes.
