Evie's pov
"Hey Haden." I said to him as I sat down at my little part of the office. He was looking at files, his face immediately perking up as he saw me.

"Hey Eve, how are you?"

"Actually not well."

"Really? What's wrong?"

"I just don't feel well."

"Are you sick?"

"I don't believe so?"

"Well, what are your symptoms, If you have any?" He asked and I smiled.

"Now don't get all professional on me Haden." I said and he smirked.

"Just doing my job babe."

"Well, I feel nauseous, and I had a fever all weekend which luckily died down today."

"Well why don't I give you a little checkup?" He asked and I smiled.

"You know I don't have insurance for that, especially since this hospital is so expensive."

"It will be on me, come on." He said and I sighed. I got up, following him.

"So how long have you been feeling like this?"

"It started about a week ago."

"Any other symptoms?"

"Uhm...I've been having frequent headaches and a lot of pain.."

"Pain where?" He asked, and I quickly got uncomfortable, which I think Haden noticed.

"I'll call a female doctor." He said and walked out. I pulled out my phone, scrolling through Instagram.

In a few short minutes, a female doctor came in.

"Hello Evie."

"Hi Natalie." I said and she smiled.

"Haden said you don't feel well, can you explain what's wrong?"

"Nausea, headaches, a fever, pain.."

"Pain where?"

"In my breasts and on my stomach." I said and she wrote it down on her clipboard.

"May I check your stomach?" She asked and I nodded. I picked up my shirt, and she put pressure on my stomach, which I immediately winced at, as my stomach was currently sensitive.

"Okay..." She muttered and wrote something down on her clipboard.

"Are you sexually active?" She asked, and immediately my eyes went wide.

"I- um, no?"

"Are you sure?" She asked and I didn't respond.

"When was the last time you had sex?"

"About a month and a half ago." I said and she sighed.

"Are you taking any contraceptives?"

"What?"

"Contraceptives means birth control, such as pills, a shot, a ring?"

"N-No, there's not a possibility I could be pregnant, correct?" I asked and she sighed.

"There's always a possibility Evie." She said and I felt myself freeze, tears quickly starting to run down my face.

"Just so we are sure, is it alright if I take a blood test?"
