The stare was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. At least it was, from Toge. It was only the ticking sounds of the wall clock under the blackboard; the burst of the wind and the breaths of you both were present. On the contrary, you comfortably sat across his face while placing your chin on top of your hand as you kept looking directly at his eyes.

"Hey, Toge-kun, look at me. Why are you upset?"

Every time you ask what makes the quiet boy this down has made you worry whenever he keeps ignoring you, especially when you are his so-called best friend, yet he isn't saying anything to you. You decide to stare at Toge until he explains himself. A low-key pressure of saying, "Spill the beans."

A heavy silence settled over him as he shifted his body away from you that you may not figure out what is in his brain. However, that doesn't make you leave or stop seeing his unsettled eyes glance unceremoniously around you.

"If you don't want me around, it's fine. I just wanted to help. I'm sorry."

From sitting up and walking past the sitting boy, you can say you have five-star acting talent after you saw his body move, which made you smirk and shout, "Just kidding!" and laughed when he flinched as he immediately went back to his gloomy corner.

"Haha, I won't leave my poor friend behind. So, will you tell it to me now?"

He remained moving his gaze away from you and kept refusing to say anything. Consequently, you sighed and started poking his hands up to his sides aimlessly when you heard a sudden giggle. You were unsure of what had just happened, so you started poking his sides again to get his attention and noticed him flinch, every poke as he tried to control his uncontrollable giggle, barely audible. He placed a glance at you, reassuring himself that you didn't hear it, but he thought wrong.

'He's ticklish?' From the short distance he has with you, who wouldn't hear that cute, blessed sound? However, it might be Toge's end when you let out a smirk and smiled mercilessly. One idea came to your mind that made him wish he had the ability to control his muscles and diaphragm for him not to laugh at all.

You start tickling him with your trained fingers from fighting and learning piano - up to his sides until he's a puddle of laughter. You wonder, how did he even manage to control not activating his curse words ability for him to stop you, or worse, even kill you from how you torture him. It was a guilty pleasure, wanting to end his suffering, though hearing him laugh like that made you blush and want to hear more.

"As your best friend, it is my wholehearted job to make you happy! So, will you tell me what's wrong now?"

Toge caught your hands and glared at you for a moment before signing. "Salmon," he nodded, which made you pretty happy. However, another familiar voice suddenly spoke first that startled both of you.

"It's because he missed your birthday three days ago."

"Panda-kun?! Why are you here?"

"Excuse me, I was here the whole time, but it seems like you two have your pretty world without me." He acted hurt, but you shrugged him off after apologizing. What you focused on was the childish reason why Toge became sad for three days straight. And when you look at his embarrassed face, Panda was right.

"Is that true~?" You teased and laughed as you poked him once again.

"Yup, if only you could see his face. Sadly, we have this life and death mission that we can't ignore on the same date, but I think you already know that."

"Pfft- is that it?" You laughed. It was indeed your birthday, and you wouldn't say it's not fun just because the most awaited person you longed for was not there for an understandable reason. The school created a big celebration, filled with joy. However, it's more fun with Toge around.

"Toge, you being that sad because of me might be the best birthday gift ever. Plus, your undeniable cute laugh." You giggled when he looked down from shyness.

"Tuna Mayo." He beautifully smiled as he removed his mask, which unexpectedly made your heart flutter.

"It means I like you," The smirking Panda said.

"Wha-No, it's not! He means Thank you!"

"It has the same yet different meaning. It's confusing, but as Toge's translator, I'm correct~ right Toge?"

Your cheeks become red as a tomato, but what you're surprised by is that you suddenly cannot look at his face. However, within just a moment, you felt his hands intertwined with yours and said, "Tuna Mayo," one more time, and whispered to you, "...Like."
