"I SAY JD BUYS!"
jake laughed shaking his head as all the guys were getting ready to leave from today's preseason game.
"hey you were the one who got a hatty today."i shrugged, walking out and going to my office.
i bit my lip thinking about what today was, and i quickly frowned.
it was mikey collins birthday.
during that accident, other than mikey i had taken the worst of it. a few broken ribs, broken leg, major concussion, and a few more injuries that took awhile to heal, even the emotional ones.
after that day i vowed that i'd change. i wasn't gonna be the same girl i was before and i stuck to that, but i lost everything i had loved that year, and i regretted it so much.
a knock on my door broke me from my thoughts after awhile, and i saw jd standing there, leaning up against my door.
"we're going to mcganns, you coming?" he asked and i nodded.
"i have to go stop by somewhere so i'll meet you guys there."i sent him a smile before he nodded and walked out.
i took a deep breath, gathering myself before going out to my car and making my way down the road, and out of town.
i stopped by a flower shop before continuing my way, and as soon as i got to my destination, i was slow to go, but i went.
my feel slowly made its way to the grave stone, and sighed placing the flowers down.
"happy birthday collins." a small smile played on my lips, knowing he was looking over me.
i talked to his headstone for awhile, and then finally asked the one question i always asked him.
"do you approve of how my life is going?"i asked, picking at the ground, "like the way i'm treating people, the way i choose to live, the way everything is going?"
"i know you tried as hard as you could to protect me from the dangers but i'm so sorry for that night and if i could go back i would mikey i so would." i told him, and sighed.
"i've gotta go but i'll come back soon i promise mikey."i told him, brushing off my backside and then leaving.
i parked in my usual spot at the garden before walking over to mcganns and all the guys cheered as they saw me making me laugh
"usual?"one of the waiters asked and i shook my head, "beer please."
"i've never seen you get a beer." charlie mentioned, and i shrugged as it came, and i took a swig of it.
"some things just happen for a reason."i reminded him, and even myself.
it had taken me years to realize that after the accident because i thought it was all my fault that mikey collins was dead, and in the end it wasn't.
i thought it was the end of the world, when in reality it made me wake up and realize that i needed to get my life together.
and i did, i absolutely did.

i hope they don't look bad considering what i payed for them. if you can't tell i was jake debrusk for halloween but didn't get a lot of candy. and YES! i did wear a mask🥰 this is why you wear your mask! okay bye now 🥳
