"Bakit hindi pa kayo nagsabay ni Calixto?" Nagdududang tanong sa'kin ni Sage.

I swallowed the lump that was forming in my throat while I felt my heart race, struggling to keep a straight face as my chest continued to wallow down the pain.

"M-mauuna siya," I stammered, clearing my throat right after para hindi mahalata ni Sage kung gaano ka-unsual ang gawi ko ngayon.

Sage shrugged his shoulders, his lips puckering up as if what I said just made sense. May sasabihin pa dapat siya pero naunahan ko na siya nang magsalita ako.

"Si Hera?" I asked, my heart beating quite too fast.

He hums in recognition as he continued to drive. "Baka nagpapakalunod nanaman sa alak--"

"Sage!" I scolded him.

He chuckles in return while I shook my head. "Mauna na raw ako 'e, but I mean like, might as well 'di ba? Kasi nagpapasabay ka," he says.

I nodded slowly, slowly feeling the coldness through the tip of my fingers while we near the firm.

"Ganda ng gown mo, pero masyadong hapit. Bili ni Calixto?"

I licked my lips as I slightly shook my head to say no. He raised his brows but I was thankful when Sage kept quiet and didn't utter anymore words as he focused himself on driving.

I slowly lifted my gaze up to meet the car's windows as I observed how the droplets from the rain cascaded down to it, my eyes fluttered while I watched the rain pour down.

I shakily let out an exhale.

I'm an idiot.

Ang tanga-tanga ko para pumunta sa napakalaking event ng firm, ang tanga-tanga ko para mag-abalang pumunta pa sa araw kung saan opisyal at legal nang ipapakilala si Calixto bilang bagong Chief Executive ng firm. Ang tanga-tanga ko lang na nilalabanan ko 'yung sakit kahit halos ilang araw na ang lumipas pagkatapos niya sukuan 'yung relasyon namin kasi kumakanlong pa 'ko sa mga salitang, 'baka bumalik'.

I was the one who got cheated on.. I was the one who was left without any explanation at all.. ako na nga 'yung ginago, pero heto ako at mas lalo pa ring ginagago sarili ko.

"This day is a special day, huh?"  Hera says, my eyes snapped at her direction. I bit my lip when I realized that I zoned out for the nth time the moment Sage and I arrived here.

Matamlay akong tumango sa kaniya, Hera raised her brow suspiciously at me habang patuloy niyang sinisimsim 'yung wine na kanina pa niya dala-dala.

"This wine's shitty, I'll go and get us a better one," she mutters, making me sigh in relief as I ushered her to go away.

My eyes roamed around the grand room where the event is being held, and that was the moment I realized, how lonely and fucked up I felt like.

Ngayon i-aanunsyo ang panibagong posisyon ni Calixto. For some reason, ngayon rin i-aanunsyo na ang kompanya ng mga Mercedes ay tuluyan nang bumagsak---funny how my ex would announce my other ex's shitty destiny. At ngayon...

Ngayon rin naman nataon 'yung mismong monthsary namin ni Calixto---'yung ex ko.

I bit my lip to stop it from trembling when memories continued to flash back in my mind. I closed my eyes and told myself to breath and let it all go consequently as I let out an exhale.
