I didn't know what I had in me that made me bite onto that fight because usually, I'd always be the one to end the argument.

So even if a week had passed after our fight, handito parin ako nagkakaroon ng re-run sa mga nangyare na para bang may scene sa movie akong pinapaulit-ulit na nirereplay sa utak ko.

I never liked confrontational situations, especially if it involved my partner.

Maybe it was the alcohol, maybe it wasn't completely out of my system, maybe it was because the argument was hoisted in an ungodly hour.

Or maybe it was because I was just tired.

And fed up.

I felt guilty knowing this relationship is working on an opposite toll but he isn't giving up, so why should I? Anong karapatan ko para sukuan siya, it would always feel like that.

I could never.

"Girl, okay ka lang?" Tanong ni Shirley nang magkita kami sa pantry side ng Quali El Quali firm.

"Oo naman, napagod lang siguro kasi galing ako sa site," tugon ko habang sumisipsip sa kape ko, the coffee burned my tongue but It didn't stop me from drinking it.

"Mr. Delos Reyes said you could be the next favorite of the big bosses sa department niyo, isn't that a good thing girl?" Shirley slipped in the vacant seat next to me, a smile crept it's way to my lips.

"That's good." Mahina kong sagot, I was completely drained from all the work I've been getting, since nagpa-pile na lahat ng projects na binibigay sakin.

Oo naman, magandang balita 'yon, I wanted to be an Engineer for so long and making my way to the top won't be as easy after rejecting a big known firm in our industry. Kaya naman kahit ano pa ang gawin ko para lang mapatunayan sa iba na nag-top ako sa board nang may dahilan, 'e gagawin ko.

"You don't seem happy, girl." Seryoso siyang tumingin sakin, the jollyness that would usually make up her personality is gone.

"I am, hindi lang halata kasi napagod--"

"Napagod sa trabaho o dahil may dumadagdag pang ibang reason?"

I gulped the remaining coffee from my cup, I wanted to answer that so bad.

Na-iba ang atensyon naming dalawa nang mag-alarm ang phone ko.

It's an alarm set to remind me to call Alonzo. I held a finger up at Shirley as I excused myself, I heard her sigh while she waved her hand nodding at me.

My phone rang Alonzo's phone while I was on the way to the firm's rooftop.

"She's here, she's on the phone." Narinig kong sabi ni Alonzo, the backround had shuffling noises.

"Hey babe--"

"Hershey Hesquintes, I'm sad you're not here to discuss the wedding personally!" I immediately recognized the fake cheery voice that spoke, Georgia Morocco.

"Alonzo." Sabi ko, not minding Georgia at all.

"Babe, about how long can we get in your breaktime?"

Mabilis kong tinignan 'yung wristwatch ko.

"About thirty minutes, since I have a client to attend to." I muttered habang nakatingin sa kawalan, I was already on the rooftop, naupo ako sa steel chair habang hinahawi ang mga upos na natira ng sigarilyo sa mesa.

This is practically a smoking area.

"Great. It seems as if you haven't decided about the wedding motif, I actually have a few in mind," ginusto ko nalang mapasinghap ng hangin, her tone is the most disinterested tone I've ever heard.
