Sitting on her bathroom floor with nothing else to do than scroll through social media, the girl had found herself in tears over some of the comments that she had been reading within the past hour or so.
It had just gone 2am and everyone else in the apartment seemed to be busy. Eben and Treasure were watching a film, Jack was on call to someone and that left Serenity by herself with no one to keep her company but her social media timeline.
Twitter was always the worst site for her to be on, how everyone was so open with their opinions on the girl that most days it really affected her. And tonight, it seemed to had hit her the most.
She knew she messed up, and she knew she was definitely to blame for how she was feeling, but in the year she had known Zach, even after she addressed their breakup the hate had not become this bad.
And so, as she sat there in the bathroom she let out a sigh, before the tears continued to roll down her face and she continued to doubt her worth, with many horrible and dark thoughts circulating around her head.
But the girl had felt unable to move, her mind reminding her of her past relationship and where that had eventually led her, into a bathroom where she'd admit her wrongs and give herself the consequences of it.
The multiple subtle and faded scars down her wrist, each of them seeming to her like they had to resurface, despite how many people she had made a promise to about leaving them be.
With that the main subject in her thoughts in that moment, she got up from where she was sitting and glanced around the bathroom, looking for some sort of sharp source.
After she had found one, she sat back down and wiped both her eyes with her hand before letting out a deep breath and glancing down at the sharp object she had in her hand.
But just before it had reached the skin, the girl's phone buzzed and lit up, which distracted her from what she was doing as her head shot up to see who the notification was coming from.
Stopping what she was doing, she dropped the object that was in her hand and reached for her phone, double checking the message on the screen in case she had thought it was someone it wasn't, and to her surprise it was who she thought it was, her boyfriend.
