Since it was my turn to make dinner, I settled on noodles, mash potatoes, and steamed vegetables since it was quick and easy. We both sat opposite each other on the dinner table as usual with our plates in front of us.
"How was work?" My mother asked me the common question.
"Normal," I say before shoveling more mashed potatoes into my mouth.

"What do you think about King Terhan? I reckon you met him already," she says and I nodded, remembering our three one on one encounters. I was shocked she asked but realized it was expected of her. "Apparently, he wants the weak human to be his friend," I scoffed," He probably just wants me to be his little experiment," I sighed. My mother says nothing, her eyes on me as she thought of something to say.

"Please be nice to him, he is a really kind person and I'm sure you won't be his experiment," she insisted. My hand runs through my hair, already feeling annoyed. "King Julian leads to unwanted attention," I finally say. I would hate to wonder what the other pack members would think if they saw me talking to Julian alone.

"I think you are overreacting. He is only nineteen years and has to figure this king thing all on his own, cut the guy some slack," my mother insisted. I snapped my eyes to her," I think you're thinking about this too much. How was work?" I changed the subject. She frowned and sighed but answered anyway," good, normal." The conversation falters, we keep trying to bring up conversation topics to work but I guess we both were too tired.

After dinner, I washed up the dishes and treated myself to a hot shower after a complicated day. As usual, I stay longer under the hot burning water that left my skin aching and hot. I couldn't care, it gave me pleasure. The floor creaked as I walked out of the bathroom, my skin wet and the towel around my body to dry me. After doing so, I changed into shorts and a tank top in which I usually sleep in.

Sighing, I grabbed my laptop and opened it. The blue and white bright screen greeted me as I typed in my password. Just then, my phone buzzed with the tenth message I received from Addison. I sighed and closed the chat before even reading it. Ignoring Addison hasn't been easy. Typing on the website to watch free movies, I settled on my favorite movie Incredibles.
