this takes place when minghao was still dating mingyu and chan was still new in the group c:

minghao stood up from the bed while panting, he was always a little awkward after having sex

he started looking for wherever his shirt had landed when he took it off and when he found it, he walked over to it and put it on, he proceeded with his underwear and lastly his pants

mingyu just stared at him still naked on the bed but covered up with the bedsheets, he was also still panting as he tried to regulate his breathing

minghao sat on the bed and took a deep breath, he just looked away trying to avoid any eye contact but mingyu's hands moving caught his attention "minghao" he signed

the younger turned to look at him with a guilty expression "yes?" he asked nervously, he hated those kinds of situations

they had been watching a movie at mingyu's place because he was home alone, when suddenly, the taller had gotten a little serious

he had asked where their relationship was going, it was a sensitive topic when it came to someone that wasn't your soulmate, minghao wanted to avoid the topic so he just started kissing him until they got to where they were at the moment

"i asked you something and you didn't reply, i know you don't like serious talk, i hate it too, but we can't keep avoiding our future" mingyu signed

at the mention of the word future minghao's heart ached, he hated that word, it was so scary, so unpredictable, and for them, it meant pain, because they wouldn't be together forever

"mingyu, i don't know, i keep telling you i don't know, how am i supposed to know? i hate this so much, you don't know how much times i've cried myself to sleep thinking about what will happen and how i wish you could just be my stupid soulmate, i'm so afraid you'll come to me one day saying that you finally met them or that i'll stumble upon someone that i can hear and isn't my family" minghao signed feeling his eyes watering and his throat itching

mingyu pressed his lips together "i-" he took a deep breath "i know, believe me, i know, but i'm honestly so tired, i love you so much it hurts every single day, i'm always terrified, it's like we have an expiration date, instead of making each other happy, we're just making our mental health deteriorate because we're too afraid of losing each other" he signed and started crying

minghao started crying too "i'm so tired" he signed, came closer to him, and then hugged him, they were both crying but the hug made it better

mingyu broke the hug and looked at him "do you think-" he couldn't even sign it, just the idea of it was so extremely painful, it made his heart feel like it was being squished

"we need to break up" minghao finally signed it, and as soon as he signed those simple words, he started sobbing violently, mingyu joined his sobs and hugged him tightly

they stayed in that position for a while until mingyu signed "can i have one last kiss?" he whipped his eyes

minghao bit his lip and sniffed, he nodded and leaned in to a last painful kiss, their lips touched and then a tongue slipped in, they started making out feeling the comfort of being with each other

after their lips parted, they continued crying violently and minghao signed "i'm so thankful for everything"

mingyu nodded with a sad smile trying to hide the excruciating pain he was feeling in his chest "i couldn't have asked for something better" he signed back
