junhui opened the door to see a very nervous minghao standing awkwardly with a tiny smile full of fear

"you can come in" he signed and then whispered "it's going to be okay" making sure his mom didn't see or hear him

meanwhile, his mom was taking out the food from the kitchen they had both cooked and was putting it in on the table

minghao stepped in and headed towards the table, he sat down and junhui's mom sat down too

"i've met you before, how are you minghao?" his mom asked

minghao smiled "i'm fine, everything is going well lately, how are you, ms. moon?" he asked

junhui was a little surprised, the situation wasn't awkward at all and he couldn't tell if the younger was still nervous since he seemed calm

ms. moon was the good kind of surprised, he always knew minghao was polite but she liked that he was so nice "everything is going well, thank you for asking" she signed and then looked at the food

"we can start eating if you'd like to" she signed, minghao looked at the food and realized it was pizza, he tried to keep calm but had to mention why he wasn't going to eat

"i'm so sorry" he apologized "i'm vegan" he said and looked away as if it was his fault

junhui chuckled "it's vegan pizza" he signed "we investigated a recipe and i think we nailed it" he then smiled sweetly

minghao looked at the pizza again, it did look vegan so he smiled widely, he was so happy junhui and his mom would take the time to cook something delicious he could eat

"i'm very thankful for this" he signed while smiling

"no problem, it was fun cooking something new" she signed as she took a piece of pizza

"sorry if it doesn't look that great or even taste good but it was our first time cooking like this and we tried" junhui signed and chuckled

but minghao was overwhelmed with happiness "that's the least thing that matters" he signed with a huge smile and took a piece too

junhui took a bite of it and grinned "it's delicious" he said while looking at minghao, the younger looked at him with wide eyes immediately realizing his mistake

his mom looked at them weirdly "i didn't know you guys lip-read, but now that i think of it, it makes sense" she signed

"yeah, we sometimes lip-read, it's fun" junhui signed and chuckled awkwardly, making minghao laugh nervously

junhui didn't want to tell his mom that minghao was his soulmate because he wasn't ready yet, they never talked about sensitive stuff and just thinking about it made him feel awkward

that's why he had suggested the other to just act as if they dating, interrupting his thoughts, his mom signed something that nearly caught him off guard

"how did you guys end up dating if you were such good and close friends?" she signed while looking at them

junhui just stayed there tryinf to remember the story they had agreed on "uuuhhhh" but thankfully minghao was faster than him and saved the day

"well, junhui was my friend but i always had a crush on him, i didn't know it though, when i realized i told him and it turned out he liked me too so he asked me out and after a few dates he asked me to be his boyfriend and i said ye- i mean signed yes" he smiled

his mom nodded "well, that sounds nice, i kind of figured out junhui was falling for someone since he's been in a very good mood lately" she signed

"i'm glad he's been happy, that's all i'll ever strive for him to be as long as i'm with him" minghao signed with a grin

junhui blushed and cleared his throat while his mom looked at him in confusion, she had never seen her son act in such a way, he must've really liked minghao

"i'll go get some juice" junhui said while changing the subject, he stood up and left to the kitchen, when he was there he sighed and thought to himself "why am i more scared and nervous than minghao?" 

he opened the refrigerator and realized the juice was already at the table, he chuckled and took a deep breath before returning to the dinning room

when he got there, minghao was signing about something with his mom and they both looked happy, of course his mom wasn't smiling, she never smiled but she didn't have to for him to know her mood

seeing them both so comfortable with each other made him happy, he was thankful with his mom for being so nice with his soulmate even though she didn't even know yet, the other two realized that he was just standing there staring at them so they stopped signing and turned to look at him weirdly

without thinking he looked straight into his mother's eyes and signed "mom, minghao isn't my boyfriend"

the look of panic was very visible on his soulmate's face as he was about to sign something but before he could, junhui continued

"he's my soulmate"
