Ace, from CLN, had the honor of interviewing an amazing author, GandalfofspaceAnli She is the author of several books on Wattpad including The Lonely Bridge, Us and Them, Dusk and Dawn, and several more.

Okay, for starters, what would you like me to call you?

Gandalf

Have you completed a novel? If so, how did it feel?

Yes, I have completed one novel. It's called Dusk and Dawn. How I was feeling is very difficult to explain. I was happy but heartbroken. I felt like I was letting go of something precious. Like probably how a mother feels when she lets go of her daughter's hand, and the child takes her first independent steps. Happy, but sad that the child doesn't need her help to walk anymore.

How long have you been writing?

I don't exactly remember. I wrote a couple of one shots a few years ago. But then I stopped completely. Then I got into it again after watching the show The Untamed' which was probably September of last year I suppose.

What traits of yours do you find helpful, and incorporate into your writing?

I really don't know how to answer this question TBH. I guess I just write to escape from my real life. It's a way to channel my emotions and feelings.

What do you think are your weaknesses in writing?

Everything. But most importantly, pacing and lack of language versatility.

What Genre do you prefer to write in?

Fantasy. But I am not against any genre. If a story pops up in my mind, irrespective of the genre, I will pen it down.

How would you describe your writing style?

Mediocre and slow as f**k (pardon my language)

What sets you apart from other authors?

I think those who honor me by reading and supporting my books are better equipped to answer that. According to me however, there is nothing that sets me apart. I am just trying to improve myself.

What advice would you give to other authors?

I am not qualified to give advice to other authors. If anything. I am eager to learn from them.

What inspired you to start writing?

To be very honest, the character of Lan Zhan / Lan Wangji inspired me. It still does.

What's your favorite quote from one of your books?

I am not sure if it can be considered a quote, but I like this line. "When I was child, he was my whole universe and now that I am eighteen, I want him to think of me as his whole universe."

Do you get writer's block? If so, what are your methods to cure it?

Yes, I do. I have five ongoing books at the moment. When I get stuck in one, I write the other.

Do you have a writing schedule?

No. But I do try to update as fast as I can.

What was the first story you published on Wattpad?

'Prithvi - A world under threat'. I unpublished it. So technically my first proper book is "The lonely bridge'

How many books have you written?

Around 11. Including short stories, one shots and a poetry book.

Do you have a favorite book of yours?

Out of all the books I have written, Dusk and Dawn is my favorite

Do you outline your books?

Not always. 'Dusk and Dawn' and 'Mine' are the only ones that I have outlined.

What's your favorite part about writing?

The sense of happiness and accomplishment I feel when my readers tell me that they like it.

Describe yourself in one sentence?

An insecure, emotional, nerdy, fangirl, looking to better herself constantly.

What are the toughest challenges you've faced as a writer?

To be original. To write stories no one has written. And to do it skillfully. To make the readers connect with the characters and feel what they feel.

Thank you so much for allowing us to Interview you! It's been really inspiring!

Welcome.
