"I can help you with your chair if you want" he spoke as we walked back to the apartments, "no, because if you help me, I'm gonna have to repay you somehow," I told him as he laughed, "I promise...there will be no strings attached," he said as I chuckled, "all right! Mostly because I have no fucking clue as to what I'm doing" I spoke as he chuckled and we walked into my apartment. As he worked on my chair I was in the kitchen making sandwiches. I made him a dextro sandwich and a normal sandwich for me. I had bought dextro stuff in case I made friends with a Quarian or a Turian. I walked into my office and handed him the sandwich. "I made sure to buy dextro stuff last week...in case I made friends with someone who can't eat the same stuff I can eat y' know," I said as he chuckled, "thank you" he spoke as he munched on his sandwich. He glanced over at the clock, "shit...I forgot that Joker, Liara, and Wrex were supposed to visit me today" he spoke as he got off the floor and stretched, "wanna come to meet my friends?" he asked as I munched on my sandwich and nodded. I followed him out of my place, "there he is" someone spoke as I looked over and saw a human, an Asari, and a Krogan walking towards us. "Sorry guys. I was helping Y/n here with her squeaky chair" Garrus spoke as the three of them looked at me, "you can work on it another time" I told Garrus as he chuckled, "nope...I started fixing it...I'm gonna finish" he said as I sighed, "all right, I guess we're all hanging out at my place together. Everyone inside...Garrus said he'd fix my chair. So his ass is gonna fix it" I spoke as the Krogan laughed.

"I like her" he spoke as I smiled, "Y/n, this is Joker, Liara, and Wrex," Garrus spoke, we all said hello and walked into my apartment. I sat on my desk watching him fix my chair as Liara, Joker, and Wrex talked amongst each other. "Y'know Garrus, the ship could use it's commander" Liara spoke as Garrus remained quiet, "we've been through this. I get that it was her final wish to make me the commander of the Normandy. But it's her ship. It would feel like I'm intruding..." Garrus spoke as he got off the floor, "try it now Y/n" he looked over at me, I got off my desk and sat in the car, I sat cross-legged, I placed my hand on my desk and spun myself around in my chair. "No squeak! Thank you so much. I owe you" I spoke as he chuckled, "I did tell you that if you needed anything, to let me know" he spoke as I smiled at him, "I still owe you," I said as he chuckled again, "I'll think of something" he simply said, we all said our goodbyes and then they left. 'Holy crap...' I chewed on the inside of my mouth.

~A week later~

I was walking home when I saw his door slightly ajar, I cocked my head to the side as I set my bags down on the floor outside of my home, and I walked up to his door. I opened it a little, scattered all over the floor were spare parts, tools, and a few gun parts. 'Is he okay?' I walked inside and looked around, he was sitting down in front of the couch, on the coffee table sat the photo of Shepard and him, a bottle of Ryncol beside it, and a pistol on the other side. I walked up to him and sat beside him. He didn't say anything, he just stared at the picture, and I knew that today had something to do with her but I didn't press the issue. We just sat there in silence and staring at the photo. "It's her birthday today" he whispered as I looked over at him, "and it would be our anniversary..." he added as I looked at the photo again. "I'm sorry" I whispered without looking at him, "yeah..." he nodded, "we were gonna live here...which is the reason I moved in...maybe adopt a few baby Krogans...if Wrex would let us" he spoke as I smiled a little and looked at him. "Garrus...I feel like you're going stir crazy here...you need a few days away." I told him as he looked over at me and stared into my e/c eyes. "I don't have any other place I can go to get away for a while" he spoke as I thought for a moment, "I'm visiting Earth tomorrow for a family reunion...I know grandpa won't mind if you come with me. If you wanna come that is" I told him as he cocked his head to the side a little. He was quiet, he looked back at the picture and then back at me. "Sure...I don't mind" he spoke and I smiled a little. "But just for now...can you...lay your head on my shoulder and stay with me a while longer?" he asked as I blushed a moment and then nodded. I lay my head on his shoulder and we stayed like that in silence,
