Chapter 24

-SHARLENE's POV-

I maintained my smile as I kept on nodding at each and every one of the reporters and journalist, even fans, inside the room. May press conference kasi rito ngayon about sa upcoming movie.

Ugh. Kailan ba 'to matatapos? My jaw and neck hurts like hell.

I just want this to end already. I'm damn tired! I want a body massage or something.

“Miss San Pedro, thank you so much!”

There are a lot of cameras and journalist around, so I flashed him a smile (trying my best not to look fake) and received his hand for a handshake.

Halos kalahating oras pa bago natapos. We're here for almost... three hours! And I am damn tired!

Nang natapos kami, kaagad akong tumayo at nagpuntang backstage. My assistant went to me and kept on talking about my next schedules for today, but I was so busy searching for that 99% solution alcohol I saw earlier this noon.

“Where's that damn alcohol?”

She helped me look for the damned alcohol. Natagpuan namin 'yon sa tukador malapit sa comfort room. I shooed my assistant away before I sat in front of the mirror and poured a handful of alcohol, and spread it on my hands.

“What's with the alcohol?” tanong kaagad ng kakalabas lang sa CR na si Miles. Oh, yes, she's here. Again.

“Disinfectant.

She chuckled. “You won't die with that, masyado ka namang OA.”

“Prevention is better than cure.”

Her smile faded upon hearing my question.

“We are on the 10th percent,” sagot niya sabay kindat. Napairap ako.

“That isn't a progress. That's laziness!” I groaned in so much anger. “Walang kwenta! Aish!”

Napaharap ako sa salamin at nakita ang sariling repleksyon. My face was all red because of anger, and my thick eyebrows were in one line. Gosh, baka magka-wrinkles ako nito nang maaga.

We've been friends and partners since we started in this industry. I trusted her, kaya minsan may mga bagay akong pinapagawa sa kaniya na kaming dalawa lang ang may alam. That's why I trusted her to help me with my plan. But sometimes, I wished I never knew her and became friends with her. She makes me angry! Her laziness and procrastination makes me so mad!

“We got proof now. We're on the second step of our Plan A, Sharlene!”

A smirk slowly crept on my lips. Looks like destiny is in favor with me.
