Flashback .. Fast Forward

She Smiled .. I Wandered Barefoot Down To The Ocean

shook my woozy, dazed head

man, I really tied one on last nite

driving stoned .. trying to find my way

when i'd left winnie in such a damn hurry

last place i'd wanted to go was louisiana

looking out of my dirty window again

a crowd had circled around my car

their speech sounded muffled

realization hit me pretty hard

I was still stoned high

i'd no idea when .. just how long i'd slept

my last memory .. i'd coasted upon sand

passed out smooth .. under a full moon

hazy .. seemed the crowd was pointing

hollering about something .. one held a ball

then a couple of dudes stretched a net

caught it .. tearing it on my front bumper

I slapped myself hard .. hard in the face

Jesus Christ .. i'd unknowingly parked

center smack dab on the volleyball court

embarrassed .. my face turned red

reached to start my 390 engine

oh fuck .. i'd left the damn key on

turned it once .. battery dragged

once more .. it started right up

drove slowly .. through the throng

over to the dock .. got out and leaned

I looked back .. everyone was happy now

thought out loud .. how do I get in this shit

everything seemed to be in slow motion

I pondered, fuck it .. lit some sinsimilla

trying to get my head back on straight

find some kind of balance if I could

make some god damn sense of it all

there, first few puffs .. feeling better now

collected tooth brush, soap and a face cloth

my mind's eye kept replaying the past events

cleaned my windshield .. sand had coated

my entire car .. high tides had rolled in

I saw a flash .. a girl in a string bikini

leaning against my car beside me

she said I parked on the volleyball court

told me I look stoned .. asked if i'd any weed

fucked up as I was I could easily tell

she's neither a police lady or a narc

pulled my sinsimilla out .. filled the pipe full

she smiled .. I walked barefoot down to the ocean
