Thought It Over .. Asked Aunt Edna To Take Dolly Home

alline made a strange gasp

she tried to put her shoes on

just grabbed some and took off

I went and shut the front door

she'd left standing wide open

dolly was bright eyed and bushy tailed

said wtf was all that bullshit all about

I related i'd recently begun dating alline

since I wasn't sure she'd leave Louisiana

she climbed on top before i'd to go to work

I reassured her we'd have no more problems

tucked her in .. kissed her softly on the cheek

tired, headed out the door to go to work

a few hours later .. at the service station

where I worked .. alline flew into the drive

screaming and crying .. she threw dolly's shoes

hitting me with them .. said she wants hers back

I repled okay .. i'll get them for you as soon as I can

she demanded to know why .. who's in my bed

I said it might have something to do with

steve, in houston .. on the weekends, dear

she cried all the more .. couldn't stop for anything

I reached through her window .. hugged her close

she'd no idea i'd be moving to winnie

so like that we're friends again .. for awhile

every day she'd come by during lunch

we'd eat .. sit in her car and talk for an hour

i'd brought her shoes to her .. given dolly's back

alline swore she loves me .. told her I love her too

she purchased ted nugent tickets .. I refused to go

I wasn't about to treat dolly bad .. I already had

she'd just made the first move of her life

it was no small thing for either one of us

alline wouldn't give up .. kept coming by

offered cash, I refused .. told her i'm not for sale

reminded her there's fifty guys for every woman

then there's steve .. waiting in houston for her

said she broke up with him .. for me, for us

on and on she cried .. please get rid of dolly

thought it over .. asked aunt edna to take dolly home
