No One Can Say One Heart Can't Love Twice

one of the most difficult decisions 

I ever had to make in my entire life

people say one heart can't love

two hearts .. I know they're wrong

I love dolly and alline both .. I do

I know my own heart very well

it pulled in both directions

in dolly's direction a little more

I hurt .. hurt bad when she left

hands tied .. warrant for my arrest

transporting a teen across state lines

kilo spoke with dolly's older brother

the hit wouldn't be dropped

unless dolly returned home

she and I talked, hugged .. cried 

before aunt edna drove her home

dolly had given me her honor

I never took it as a light thing

the way she'd given all of herself

unconditionally .. won my heart

alline knew .. seemed to not care

somewhere .. someone had taught alline

love can be bought for a price

I spoke letting her know it's not true

at least I wouldn't give in for money

she asked .. I replied yes, I love dolly

she didn't have to ask yet she did

I said yes .. I love you dearly, too

my heart can't be easily explained

she can't deny the unrequited love

that pours from my heart into hers

alline seemed really happy

dolly was gone .. yet still

damage was done to all

alline still loves steve .. i'll always love dolly

no one can say one heart can't love twice
