Cricket POV:

"Everyone! Calm down!" Luna shouted to the dragons in Jewel Hive. "We have an announcement to make!"

No one listened to the lunatic SilkWing, as the HiveWings had quite the prejudice and because they were too busy being panicked to hear her.

"Please!" Cricket yelled. "This is important! It's about the other planet," she added.

The crowds murmured about the lunatic SilkWing and HiveWing but quieted nonetheless. Curiosity took over.

Cricket smiled gratefully and called out, "Tell this to your families, your neighbors. This is important news.

"Over here, we have dragons from the other continent, Pyrrhia, all the way across the ocean—from the Distant Kingdoms," Cricket began. The crowds began to murmur. Again. Cricket cleared her throat. "And amongst them, we have a NightWing—Moon." Cricket swept one of her wings in Moon's direction.

Crowds erupted as they finally saw the new dragons lurking in the shadows. They saw Winter first, as his scales shone like a beacon in the sky, then Qibli, Turtle and Anemone, and gasped when Kinkajou appeared suddenly in a burst of pink and yellow scales.

"I've always wanted to do that!" Kinkajou squealed.

Moon was last to be spotted—to be fair, she didn't like attention and so had decided to hide in the shadows. But of course, since Cricket introduced her, so she reluctantly stepped out beside Cricket.

The crowd seemed to silence just because of her. It was so silent, you could hear a pin drop. Until one dragon, a young SilkWing, gasped and said, "Are you Clearsight?"

Moon ducked her head. "I'm . . . Moonwatcher."

"Can you tell see the future?" a HiveWing yelled.

"Yes . . . no . . . sort of?" Moon said.

"What do you mean, sort of?" another HiveWing asked.

"I can, but just not always. Not as well as Clearsight could."

"So!" Cricket clapped her talons, abruptly changing the subject. She could see Moon was getting a little too uncomfortable. Moon immediately rushed off to the shadows and blended in again. Luna rolled her eyes.

"As you can see," Cricket said. "And hear," she muttered. "Moon can see the future—"

"Sort of!" called a HiveWing.

"Stop! I'm saying a speech here!" Cricket said in the dragon's general direction. "As I was saying," she continued. "Moon can see the future, and she saw a vision recently."

The crowd gasped so comically Cricket had to fight to keep her smile off her face. Dramatic much?

"What she saw may seem rather impossible, but it is," Cricket continued.

"How can you be sure?" a SilkWing asked.

"Yeah! You guys stole the Book of Cleasight! How can we trust you?" another HiveWing barked. "We should probably turn you in to Que—"

"Visions are rarely wrong," Cricket interrupted, fidgeting. "Unless, of course, someone changes the timeline, but we doubt that'll happen."

"In the vision," Luna continued. "Moon saw the planet we are to crash into."

The crowd began murmuring yet again. "SHHHHH!" Swordtail shouted.

"She saw the creatures in the planet." Luna said. "And they were reading monkeys."

"Reading monkeys?" Winter asked.

"Yeah. These little hairless squirrel monkey things; they have rather useless paws and can READ." Cricket told him.

". . . But . . . aren't those scavengers?" Qibli asked.

"Scavengers?" she asked.

"That's what we call them, on Pyrrhia." Kinkajou butted in.

"Okay, then. You see," she said, addressing the crowd. "These scavengers have powers. They can kill us. Well, half of them, anyway. That is why we can't try to eat them."

Several HiveWings were scowling at that, but some looked like they believed this and might listen. Naturally, the vegetarian SilkWings looked sick and nodded quickly.

"Please do spread the message," Cricket said. "And thank you!" she added when dragons flitted away to other Hives.

Cricket and the group were sitting atop the top of Jewel Hive. Cricket was looking for Sundew. She was surprised none of the HiveWings saw her, or if they did they hadn't reacted.

It wasn't until a few hours later did she spot Sundew talking with Luna.

"Sundew!" Cricket cried, running towards her.

"WHAT must you need NOW, HiveWing?" Sundew barked.

"I just wanted to tell you to warn the LeafWings," Cricket said.

"Oh," Sundew said, waving a wing at her dismissively. "I already did that."

"What? How?" Cricket asked. "Do have some really cool thing where you can contact them immediately? Can I see it? How does it work?" she asked, ecstatic.

"No, it isn't." Sundew said. "You an your imagination. I flew there, with my wings."

"Oh," Cricket said, deflated.

"I wasn't even there for your epic speech or whatnot, did you not notice?" Sundew said, turning back to Luna.

"I actually didn't," Cricket said and turned to go find Blue.

Just then, a multicolored bundle launched itself on the roof of Jewel Hive. It was Swordtail.

"Guys!" he yelped. "We're under attack!"
