Chapter 5:
"Ashley Margirita Sarah Pierson," She screechs. "Where have you been?!"
"Out..." I say quitely.
"In your condition?" She continued to scream.
"It's just a flu, Mum," I say calmy. "Chill." I walk over to the cupboard and place my keys on top of the counter.
Mum follows me. "I will not chill! I was worried sick! I thought Lucas had taken you to the doctors or something, but it doesn't take as long as that! You know what-" She clearly had trouble saying this. "You are grounded!"
"WHAT?!" I scream. "NO!"
"Go up to your room!"
"Fine!" I scream. "Leave me alone, you're not even my real mum!"
I stomp up the stairs, tears forming in my eyes and spend most of the night crying into my pillow. I must've gotten so many texts from Lucas asking how I was. I didn't reply, I just continued to cry. Cry, and cry, and cry.
