Chapter 4:
It didn't feel as long as it did getting to the cemetery. It felt relaxing actually. I fell asleep during the ride, so I didnt know what was going on. The moment I woke up I was outside my house, Lucas casually opening the door for me.
"Bye Lucas," I say. "See you tomorrow."
"Bye Ash." He says.
I give a hug to Lucas, it seemed like forever until we finally let go of each other. I ran to my front door, turned around and gave one last wave to Lucas. Since it would be a couple of hours until I see him again, maybe even more since it looks like I'm going to be grounded.
I hear the engines of Lucas's car rev, and soon after he's gone. I look back just to make sure he's completly gone, out of my site. Then I get my key out from my pyjama pocket and carefully twist it to open the door. No light is on when I enter, only a lamp light in the living. There I can see my step-mum in tears staring up at me. She rushes over to where I am.
I expect a calming hug and a "I'm so happy you're back!" from her... instead.
"Ashley Margirita Sarah Pierson," She screechs. "Where have you been?!"
