Snake Eyes

"So he found out then...how'd he take it?" Kurai called out over his shoulder as he jumped to another tree.

"Not too well..." You sighed following behind Kurai and Razan.

The three of you had been traveling though the trees for a while now. You were still pretty far from the tower so now seemed like as good of time as any to talk about everything that went down.

"I want to fix things...I feel really guilty about all of it." You admitted.

"Alright you should try talking to him then. It'd be good to explain your side of the story." Kurai offered while Razan silently nodded in agreement.

You thought over Kurai's words before slowly nodding.

"Okay, when I get the chance I'll talk to him."

"Good it's settled. Now pipe down, we're getting close to the tower." Razan spoke up causing all of you to fall silent.

He was right. Ahead of you the tower could be seen illuminated by the rays of the full moon. It caused a grin to spread across your face.

'We're so close...I wonder how many people have already passed the exam...I mean it's only the third night.' You thought glancing towards your squad members.

They moved swiftly and silently through the trees but you could tell they were on edge. You assumed this was because how close the three of you were to passing the second exam.

Thankfully though the three of you reached the tower without a hitch. Now all that was left to do was to find the right door. After a while of looking you found the door and entered with your squad close behind you.

"Okay...so we made it to the tower with the scrolls...now what?" You questioned glancing around the brightly lit room. It was pretty plain looking. The only notable thing in the room being the writing on one of the walls.

'Hm what's that even say...' You wondered before flinching as someone smacked the back of your head.

"Dweeb read the writing on the wall. We're suppose to open the scrolls together now." Razan sighed completely ignoring the menacing glare you were now giving him.

"Well I was TRYING to read the wall but you rudely interrupted me." You frowned pulling the heaven scroll out of your weapons pouch.

"I swear it's like you enjoy hitting me."

"Hm maybe I do." Razan shrugged causing your eye to twitch in irritation.

"Stop antagonizing her. We've all had a long three days and shouldn't be fighting with each other." Kurai spoke up glancing towards Razan who simply rolled his eyes in response.

Shaking his head at this Kurai took out the earth scroll he was carrying in his pocket.

"Okay so we open these together right?"

Razan nodded and you and Kuari proceeded to open the scrolls at the same time. As soon as the scrolls were opened they began to smoke.

"Eh what the heck?"

"They're summoning scrolls...quick throw them over there!" Kurai quickly explained before throwing his scroll along with yours to the ground a few feet away.

As soon as the scrolls hit the ground an unfamiliar woman appeared out of the cloud of smoke.

"Greetings." The woman smiled.

"I'm here to congratulate you on passing the second exam."

You grinned at the woman's words while turning to look at Kurai and Razan.
