Chapter 18: When Things Lead To Another

"Damn, the guy's crazy." Nathan muttered after me telling him what exactly happened yesterday.

I sighed knowing that what he said was right and I couldn't even argue.

Hunter was acting crazy and I haven't forgiven him for it but it's not like he's asking for my forgiveness either.

Nathan and I were currently sitting in biology whilst there was no sign of Hunter. Maybe he's just late to school.

Just then Hunter walked in through the open classroom door. He came right in and sat down at his acclaimed seat at the back.

"Would you like to tell me why you are late, Hunter?" Mrs Goodwin spoke as she glares at Hunter.

He didn't move, he just ignored her and slumped on his seat. Why was he acting out?

"Hunter, I am talking to you!" Mrs Goodwin was now shouting and smacking the textbook on her desk.

He still didn't reply.

"Hunter." She shouted even louder this time and I noticed Hunter winced as she rose her voice trying to contain his anger.

I could sense him contemplating on what to do. He let out a deep sigh. I thought he was about to shout but instead he just grabbed his bag and left the room. Just like that.

I had a sudden urge to follow after him and see if he's okay but I forced myself to stay sitting.

"What is wrong with him?" Nathan said as he shook his head and continued making notes.

I don't know. I mentally replied.

I don't.

It's like every time we are good - things just go downhill again.

I was walking to History and on my way there I came across Hunter, I didn't know how to act. I mean it's not like I'm not talking to him but I haven't forgiven him yet either. I noticed that he stopped and so did I. He was looking towards me and even when I looked back at him he continued staring. I could sense him wanting to leave so I began walking away.

"Anastasia" Thank god, at least he's talking to me.

I turned around, "What?" I asked softly, staring at him.

He waited a while before slowly shaking his head, "Nothing." He muttered and just walked away, again.

Again?!

He left me there shaken up and confused. If only I could read his thoughts.

Why was he walking the opposite direction? He has the same class as me.

I realised that I was about to be late so I quickly began walking again to my next class.

Hunter showed up late to History but Mr Kenley let him off. Lucky for him. And by him I mean Mr Kenley, I don't know what Hunter would have done this time.

Mid-lesson just as Mr Kenley was about to tell us the history behind the Cold War of America in 1989 in came the principle, Mr Giroud.

"May I have Hunter, please?" He asked as Mr Kenley nodded allowing Hunter to be escorted to the principles office by the principle.

A few heads turned around to see my reaction to what just happened but I didn't feed their curiosity, I just turned back around to the front of the classroom. The whole school knew that he was sent out for his fight with Stephane.

Hunter didn't show up to any of the other classes and that's when I knew that he had gotten suspended. Everyone was talking about it.
