Chapter 36: Taking You Home

"So you got it?" I asked Nathan one last time.

"I don't know Tas..." Nathan replies nervously as he keeps looking here and there trying to think straight.

"Man up you wuss. We're trying to get you out here." Dylan, my brother that is, shouts.

I nudge him and he sighs. He knows not to be that loud.

After I explained to him my theory, after much persuasion, he finally agreed to help me see what was actually going on here.

"Okay, okay. Run through it again, please." Nathan says.

Dylan sighs again beginning to get irritated.

Our appointment was nearly over. They said twenty minutes max today.

"All you need to do, is do anything that can get you in trouble. Anything rebellious so that they send you in Ward E. Dylan will be right behind you following and recording. We need this evidence if we want anyone to believe us." I quickly whisper all of his, holding his hand. I knew he was scared. I would be too.

"Nathan just trust me." I plead.

"I do trust you. But I don't trust him." Nathan says pointing to Dylan, "what if he gets distracted by one of the nurses and forgets to follow. Then it'll all go to waste."

"I'm not a dog. I have a substantial amount of self-control." Dylan retaliates. "Besides these nurses are old and scary. So I think I'll pass."

"Yeah you're not a dog. A dog has a lot of self-control." Nathan mutters.

"Nathan please." I ask again.

"But Anastasia you don't understand. Ward E... It's-if I get caught. They'll do bad things. And it's euphemism when I say bad things." Nathan began sweating profusely.

"I know but it'll all be over once we get that recording. Even just proving that there is a secret Ward which the public don't know about is enough for an official investigation." I explain to him to try and calm him down.

"Okay. Okay. Fine." Nathan finally says. "But-"

"You have five minutes Nathan." His nurse walks in and smiles at him. Nathan nods and she walks away again.

"Listen here Nathaniel. We're doing this for you. If you want to stay here all you life with your friend Nurse Electrocution then be my guest. If not then calm the hell down and tell us you'll do it." Dylan spits angrily.

"Yes. I'll do it." Nathan replies quickly, frustrated.

"Oh and keep little Dylan safe." I say.

Nathan nods and stands up.

"Bye." I say hugging him.

Dylan shakes his hand, a little too tightly and nods walking away.

Please let everything go according to plan.

The plan is supposed to commence at 3pm because that's when I have an appointment booked to see little Dylan.

Once Dylan and I were outside we checked the time to see we had precisely 18 minutes before the plan should commence. But ten minutes earlier Dylan will be waiting for Nathan to leave his cell in ward C, where it first was.

That is if Nathan is able to be admitted to Ward E.

"Shit! Tas we forgot to tell him about the fire alarm!" Dylan whisper-shouted at me, shaking my arm like a mad man.

I took his arm of me and shook my head, "I didn't forget." I said calmly.

Dylan looked confused and very stressed, "have you seen Nathan try to act? Yeah, he's basically rubbish. When I pull the fire alarm as soon as they take him into ward E, he'll panic even more and think that this isn't part of the plan and that'll be perfectly believable. Hopefully then the nurses and doctors will panic too and leave the building in a rush." I stopped for a moment to actually breathe, "that'll give me enough time to grab little Dylan and make a run for it and for you and Nathan to snap some pictures or record Ward E and then run too."
