“’China, close your eyes!” Capricorn ordered but I didn’t hear it. The eyes of the 13th Spirit―was fascinating and I couldn’t take my eyes away from it. Para bang sinasabi nitong titigan ko lang ang mga nito.

     “Racchina!” I blinked abruptly when I heard the sincere calling of Capricorn. Bigla naman akong nakaramdam ng sakit sa mga mata ko na para bang nasusunog ang mga ito.

     I screamed, feeling the pain around my eyes as I fell down on my knees.

     “’China! Gemida!” my co-Beares worried, then they ran toward us, two.

     “’China . . .” Xayluz was troubled as well as the others.

     Gemida and I screamed in pain not realizing that our eyes were already violet in color and the veins in our faces were already visible.

     “Ano’ng nangyayari sa kanila!” Zyke asked, igitated, to Capricorn and other Spirit.

     “It’s the side effect from staring at Ophiuchus’ eyes. Kaya h’wag na h’wag kayong titingin sa mga mata niya. They can kill you if you insist to stare at it for so long,” Sagittarius explained.

     “Pero h’wag kayong mag-alala. Racchina and Gemida will be okay,” Libra talked. “Mawawala rin ang epekto nito dahil hindi sila mas’yadong na-expose dito.”

     I grasped for air and so did Gemida. Naramdaman ko na lang na nakahinga na ako nang maayos at kita ko namang gano’n din si Gemida. We stood up and ease their worries.

     “You were told not to stare but you did!” Zyke scolded.

     “Pasensiya na, okay?” Gemina blurted―her bad-girl side was already back―while touching her forehead, when Ophiuchus bellowed.

     Napatakip naman kami ng mga tainga namin sa lakas nito. Ilang segundo rin iyon bago ito tuluyang mawala. At nang mangyari iyo’y nagsilaban ang napakaraming magic circles sa paligid. And as expected, lumabas mula roon ang napakaraming mga serpent na minsan na naming tinalo kanina . . .

     “Sila na naman?” Adiya muttered.

     . . . but this time, their bodies were already covered with metal-like scales.

     “Move, Ophiuchus!” we heard Ordon summoned it to Ophiuchus. At kahit na ‘di namin nakikita ang Spirit na tinutukoy niya’y umusbong ang takot na aming nararamdaman. Ophiuchus would already move from his place. Kung kanina’y stagnant lang ito’t natutulog lang, ngayo’y susugod na ito. Hindi namin lubos maisip ang maaaring mangyari.

     “Bearers!” called Aquarius. “Do something with Ophiuchus’ sentinels.”

     Leo talked, “We’ll deal with Ophiuchus.” At agad na nilang sinalubong ang pasugod na si Ophiuchus.

     The 13th Spirit’s tail wiggled as he moved forward to attack our Spirits.

     “Watch out, ‘China!” Drok yelled when a serpent waved its tail and slumped toward me.

     “Wake up, Racchina!” Zyke scolded matapos niyang batuhin ng apoy ang ahas sa harapan ko.

     “Pasensiya na,” I uttered sincerely. Hindi ko lang kasi maiwasang mag-alala sa mga Spirit.

     I saw him sighed.

     “Stay close behind us,” he meant I really had to because I didn’t have a power.
