Chapter 2 : The Dinner

As I drive to the two story house that I last visited a month ago , I noticed something different. It was absolutely empty. The bright yellow paint from the house was now light and the grass grew longer as if , it wasn't cut for years.

Letting out a sigh I picked up my iPhone 6 and dialed my daddy's number. It rings and rings until I heard ruffle noises being made.

"Hello?". I said still sighing.

"Hey there , what's wrong?". he questioned .

"well I'm at your place...which looks like it isn't your place anymore".

"Oh yea...forgot to tell you I moved again hun". his voice now sounding soft and light as if he was sorry.

Maybe telling me he moved before I wasted my gas wasn't such a bad idea. Talk about being more frustrated than I already was.

"Text me the address dad....just text me the 'New' address". I finally said breaking the awkward silence between us.

"Okay sweetie , the text is coming your way". he said cheerfully then hangs up.

I drove over to IHOP where I saw Alexis waiting on me in a near by booth. She started to wave me over. As I sat down I released my head making it hit heavily against the table.

"Didn't that hurt ?". she asked sounding worried.

"Yeah , but anything is better than going to that stupid dinner with that stupid family and their some what perfect looking son". I stated lifting my now aching head off the table.

"I could come but....you know me and your step mom don't get along too well". she says taking a look at her oversized menu.

What she means by that is. I invited Alexis to this house warming party. Back at the yellow house. Her and my step mom got into a argument over Alexis and her table manners. Now that's one reason me and this lady doesn't get along....she's too uptight and classy.

"It was funny though". I let out a soft laugh and she joined.

"That's because my lovely ice tea some how manage to collide on her dress...or should I say Sun dress". Alexis says bluntly. We both buss out into laughter.

People around turning and stopping to look at us.

"And the sad part about it is...Her son is the total opposite". I smirked.

"Don't get your hopes up". She says waving me off. "Caleeb is a man whore...I can't believe your falling for him". She finished taking a sip of her water.

Falling for Caleeb ? I mean I wouldn't consider it falling for him. Just a crush right ? I mean nothing is wrong having a crush.

"Am not!". I yell too loud for the liking making her laugh more.

"My point exactly". She says smirking harder. I could tell I was blushing. My cheeks were turning as red as a tomato. "Why are they taking so long to send us a waiter". She frowns. "I mean , can't they tell were as hungry as everyone else?".

"Maybe because were not showing that were hungry but seem to be entertained. I said putting down my menu.

After a couple more minutes of talking about work and Caleeb and the new school year , a waiter finally comes over.

"How may I help you?". She says looking bored out this world. I mean I would be too...if I was in her place.

"Finally , what took so damn long?". Alexis yells out. Causing us a little more attention than I was seeking.
