My parents didn't change after a few weeks.
I still cry myself to sleep.

It seemed like the flow of love became standstill
It was as if they were present only because it was their duty.

The meaningful smiles and affection disappeared into thin air.

It's pathetic really,
Because right now it feels like I'm held together by strings.

Strings so thin it feels like when I'm betrayed it'll snap and I'll fall into,
A pit of agony and despair.

Right now it feels like I'm not even alive.

At least there's a little girl known as Lily who keeps me sane enough, To live in this world.

We have become so close throughout these weeks,
I made a mistake though,
I laughed during her birthday.

You said I should never laugh because I didn't have the right too,
But what confused me was that Lily looked at me with,
Awe shining in her eyes.

I asked her why she looked so awe-struck she said,
I had a really beautiful laugh.

Lily was a really beautiful little girl, so beautiful I can't wait to see how she grows up.
My life is becoming bearable bit by bit.

And for once,

I'm actually happy.
