*Casey's pov*

[We're all standing outside Kelly and Leslie's house their neighbors house is on fire with flames licking their house There's two more flashovers chief Boden says:]

"That smoke's going black nobody goes inside. Otis get the water canons ready."

"So we just let Severide and the neighbor die in there?"

"IT'S TOO  DANGEROUS AND IF ANYBODY GOES IN THERE AGAINST MY ORDERS THEN YOU WILL BE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! Casey where the hell are you going?"

"Suspend me if you want to but I'll be damned if I let my brother die. Anybody coming?"[Hermann, Cruz, Capp, Stella, Gabby, and Brett all put their masks on Chief Boden says:]

"You've got ten minutes."

"Hermann, Capp, and Stella with me we'll search upstairs. Gabby, Brett, and Cruz search down here. We all go out together."

"Copy that Lieutenant. Fire Department call out! Severide!"[Ten minutes later Boden says:]

"Okay get out of there now!"

"Chief we got the neighbor no sign of Severide. We're coming out now."

[Everyone comes out except for Casey, Hermann, and Stella several more windows break as the house shakes from another explosion five minutes later they come out carrying Kelly he's not breathing. I'm giving Mrs. Cowen compressions Chief Boden says:]

"Leslie she's gone."

"No. Come on Deborah. You can't leave me."[She starts coughing a lot she asks:]

"Where's Kelly?"

"Here put this on it will help you breathe."

"How's Kelly? He saved my life."

"He's being checked out. We need to get you to the hospital."[Four days later Kelly still hasn't woken up yet I haven't gone to see him either. I walk into Deborah's hospital room we talk for an hour she looks at me and says:]

"Kelly misses you terribly, you  should talk to him."

"Mrs. Cowen you really shouldn't be meddling in my personal life."

"Hush your mouth and listen to me girl. You were wrong to take his daughter from him."

"Do you want to know why?"

"Why?"

"This woman came to the firehouse and gave me his phone and wallet said he left it at her place, then I saw him kissing another woman at our job right in front of me. Night before I left I took our daughter out for dinner after her ballet recital which he missed and we saw him having dinner with the same woman."

"You young people have NO IDEA WHAT IT MEANS TO LOVE SOMEONE ANYMORE. All you like to do is hook up and play games look at me. Look at me girl. KELLY HAS NEVER CHEATED ON YOU EVER. He's terrified to lose you and your family. Now he may not have shared everything with you but he never cheated."

"How do you know that?"

"It's quite simple actually, I asked him. Have you been up to see him?"

"I can't. He's my best friend I don't want to lose him."

"Then tell him. Get out of my room and don't come back until you talk to Kelly whether he can hear you or not."

"What? Who's going to stay with you?"

"I'll be fine. GO."

"I'm not comfortable leaving you right now."

"Hi Momma."
