When Gale leaves I turn around and head inside. I'm not going to see Gale until school goes back, which isn't for another two weeks!
I walk straight past my mother and my sister who are making lunch in the kitchen. They are trying to make me feel better. But what's actually wrong with me is the confusion about what to do about the boy at the counter on top of the fact that I won't see Gale for two weeks.
I lay on my bed thinking about Peeta and Gale, when I hear my phone ring. It reads 'Madge Undersee'. Madge is the mayors daughter, but also my best friend.
I pick it up, "Hey Madge."
"Hi."
"Yes?"
"What do you mean 'yes'?" she sounds quite confued when she speaks.
"I was asking what you wanted."
"Oh. Well, I was uh just checking if your okay now Gales left."
"Yeah. I guess I'm okay." I try to be as convincing as possible.
"You sure?" she still seems very unsure.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Uh are you doing anything today?"
"No. Why?"
"I was just uh wondering if you could come over?" I mumble.
"When?"
"As soon as possible."
"I'll be there in 10." she says and hangs up the phone.
