     "Hey, Chuck."

"Betty? Hi.", he smiled, putting his book into a locker.

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for last night. Billy's a real douchebag.", I said, leaning against someone else's locker.

"Yeah, he is.", he said, smiling at me as he was closing the locker.

     "Um...Can I ask you a favor?", I asked.

"Sure. What's up?", he turned around to face me.

"Can you not tell people that Billy's my stepbrother?", I asked. "I don't want anyone to know.", I added.

"Of course, Betty. Your secret is safe with me.", he smirked.

I didn't know if I can believe him, but still I'll risk it.

"Thanks.", I said and kissed his cheek.

"Check out who's back!", Chuck said pointing at someone behind me.

I turned around and when we made eye contact, it was as if the whole world stopped.

I ran up to him and jumped in his arms with him catching me. He held me tight pulling me close and spinning me around.

I couldn't help but cry into his shoulder. "Oh my God Archie, it's been so long!", I sobbed.

We pulled away and Archie's eyes were glossy. "It's been way to long, Betty.", he smiled a little.

I whipped my eyes and he looked me up and down. "God, have you gotten even prettier?", he said walking with me down the hallway.

I blushed. "I really missed my best friend.", I said looking up into his eyes.

     "I missed you too."

"So you have a brother now, huh?", he chuckled. "Wasn't that my status?"

"Step-brother, and of course. You'll always be like a brother to me.", I smiled.

"So, when I'll meet him?", he asked.

     "I hope never.", I laughed.

     "Is he really that bad?"

"You have no idea.", I said. "Speaking of devil.", I saw in the parking lot, leaned on his car watching me and Archie.

"Great, I can meet him now.", he went towards him, but I stopped him.

"Please, not today.", I said and he listened to me.

I kissed his cheek and got into Billy's car.

Billy got in after me. "So?"

     "So?", I looked at him.

He started a car. "Who's that guy? I saw your little performance back there in the hallway."

"He's my best friend, since for ever. He's like a brother to me, a real one.", I said looking at him when I said last sentence.

"That's real cute, but you're going to stop seeing him.", I looked at him and started laughing.

"You're joking, right?", I asked him.

"Does it look like I'm joking?", he asked, looking at me then back at the road.

"You're unbelievable!", I raised my voice. "You're saying that I should stop seeing my best friend, because you what...don't like him?"

"Exactly.", I was annoyed by his calmness.

The anger subsided, and my shoulders fell. "Well, I'm never going to stop being friends with him, Billy. Ever!", I made it clear. "And you have got to curb this overprotective big-brother thing you've got going on."

Billy laughed. "I'm not playing the big brother, Betty. Not even close.
