Chapter 20- Nightmares

Peetas POV

Im lying in bed softly brushing Katniss's hair out of her eyes, when she starts to thrash around and then screams.

Katniss POV

It's Mommy’s and Daddy’s Anniversary Tomorrow and Prim and i are going shopping with Daddy to get her something special. Im perched with my seat belt on, on the front of Daddy's car.

"What are you getting Mommy?" I ask in my little 10 year old voice

"Its a surprise" Daddy says

"But i want to know" I whine

"You have to wait, isn't that right Primrose" Daddy says. All of us call Prim Prim, but Daddy calls her by her full name, he says that she has a beautiful name and he doesn’t want to shorten it.

Primmy giggles and claps her hands from the back seat in her booster.

"Fine" I sigh

Daddy turns to me and smiles. In that split second i see the unrolled red car speeding towards us

"DADDY!" I scream and grab his hand

But its too late. The car smashes straight into Daddy’s car and the last thing i hear is daddy saying i love you before i go unconscious.

 I wake up screaming out Daddy’s name. Peetas there when i open my tearing eyes with his arms around me.

"Peeta" i sob burying my face into his chest.

"Hey, hey, Hey its okay." Peeta soothes playing my my hair softly

"It was Daddy" I cry into his wet shirt

"do yiu want to talk about it? Im here to listen" Peeta offers kissing my head repeatedly

"Y..yes..s" I say, my crying gone to hiccuping "It was when i was 11, and Daddy, Prim and i were going shopping, i recalled the whole conversation. But then i also saw the car crash into us....My daddy died from a speeding drunk driver going through a red light..and its all my fault"

"Shush, Katniss in no way it was your fault" Peeta agues

"Yes..yes it was. If i'd said something sooner then Daddy could of stopped or got out of the way" I say, guilty

"That wound’t of helped katniss, you went through something terrible when you were 11. Non of anything is your fault" Peeta says "Although it will be your fault when my heart brakes."

I smile and kiss his lips passionately "then ill be sure to brake it good" I whisper in between kisses

I feel peeta smile and i brake away

"I love you"

"I love you more then you could ever, now Try to sleep again okay. im here for you" Peeta says and i lie down my head on his chest.

"Can you sing the valley song?" I ask. Finnick said that he was really good i want to here him.

"Okay" Peeta whispers

After that my eyes get heavy and i fall into a deep sleep.
