Chapter Ten

"intruders beware.. crushing death and grief." I started, then Mouth finished the next sentence because I couldn't even say it. "Soaked with blood... of the... trespassing thief" Mouth trailed off. "You guys this map is old news..everybody tried looking for that, and even when our parents were our age. I mean.. haven't you heard of that guy.. Uh what's his name, the pirate guy... umm One Eyed Willy." Brand said "One Eyed Willy.." Mikey whispered.

I glanced over at Mikey who had no idea I was staring, until he turned his head towards me. "One Eyed Willy, Yeah.. He was the most famous pirate in his time. My dad told me all about him once." Mikey looked at me and smiled. I couldn't help but smile at that brace face.

"Dad will do anything to get you to go to sleep" Brand joked. "No.. you see, One Eyed Willy stole a treasure once.. he had all of the stuff.. diamonds, and all that. Then he loaded it all on his ship, then he sailed all the way into the sunset...."

I zoned out while Mikey was talking about this pirate guy.

That's the problem I have.. I always zone out when the most amazing story has to be told.

The sound of a doorbell brought me back into reality.

"Hey Mikey, I don't want to go on anymore of your crazy goonie adventures" Chunk stood up "I'm out!" Mouth runs to the attic door and climbs down.

I followed Data, "Hey data?" I asked "hm?" Data turned around, "How's your inventions coming along?" I asked, "oh it's coming along great! I think I have a top spot in science. I'm working on something that can pull stuff from far away." Data explains.

"dude, that's great!" I high five Data, "Yeah it is" Data smiles. "So it's like a magnet or?"

"Yeah it is!" Data says joyfully

"June."

I looked to my left, Mikey stood there "Yeah?"

"there is this... um thing I need to tell you."

"Okay?" I said in a question tone. "Uh.. since I'm moving and all-"

I cut him off "oh please don't remind me about that"

"well, okay but anyway.. I just wanted to ask if you would like-"

"Mikey, June come down!" Brand shouted, "damnit will everybody stop cutting me off!" Mikey yelled in frustration.

I giggled "Come on, we gotta go check what they want"

We walked outside and to our surprise. Mr Perkins was standing by the gate, along with another guy.

"hello little guys, and little lady.. I'm Mr Perkins.. Troys father"

"Yeah we know who Troy is.. he's a cheap guy" Data spoke, Brand looked at Data.

"My dads not home Mr Perkins." Brand said "is your mommy here?" He asked "No actually sir, she's down at the supermarket buying pampers for all us kids" Brand smiles sarcastically, I chuckled softly then Mikey looked at me.

"Shh" Mikey whispered, I nodded.

"well.. you can give these to your father to read through and sign." Mr Perkins handed Brand a blue paper. "Thank you" Brand said,

"brand, what is all that stuff?" Mikey asked, "Dads business."

"But what is it?"

"I told you it's dads business!"

"Look at 'em smiling.." I said "they just wanna tear down the goon docks."

"when they trash the house, I hope they make it a sand trap" Brand sighs then walks inside the house.

"And they would get their balls out" Mikey said. I looked at the men and at Mikey who had his eyes at the men.

"Hey.. Look at me" I grabbed Mikey's chin, He stared into my eyes,

Oh god those beautiful eyes..

"What?" He mumbled "they're tearing down the goondocks June, This is my home.. the place I grew up in. They can't just do that.. it isn't fair you know." Mikey trailed off, I could hear hurt in his voice when he speaks about the goon docks.

"I know Mikey.. but everything will be okay. trust me brace face." I smiled,

He pulled me into a hug.

"Thank you June.. I really really appreciate you so much."

I felt so many emotions when he hugged me. For one.. his scent was amazing, two.. his warmth made me feel at home, and third.. he made me feel at home.
