APHRODITE'S VIEW

Se'ir sat in the back while Bruce drove. It was quiet and I knew he was thinking. I didn't bother him.

"So....Aphrodite, tell me more about yourself." Se'ir said. His arms were behind his head, his eyes closed.

"Only if you return the favor." I replied.

"Trattare [TRANSLATION: "Deal."]" He replied. I turned to him, raising my eyebrows. "I'm being honest. I'll tell you more about myself."

"Alright then. I was born in Metropolis. I attended Riverstone University, initially I was to major in Engineering, but I wasn't interested. Instead, I went to The Art Institute, majored in art of course, culinary art included...graduated, worked with a studio for a few years and moved here."

"Interesting. Ambitious. Well...I graduated from Gotham University years ago with a computer science degree. I was gonna further my studies but I changed my mind and chose to train to be a National Guard. After serving for a few years, I realized I had no idea what I was doing. Not that I didn't like my job, I just craved some peace and quiet and I so desperately wanted to leave the stress behind. So I resigned and moved back here."

"Equally interesting. How'd you meet Bruce?" I asked curiously and he laughed.

"He fell through my roof." He replied and shrugged. "And no, I hadn't always lived in this area of Gotham. I used to be around people. He had been fighting some guy named Maxie Zeus, you know, the stolto [TRANSLATION: Fool] that thinks he's Zeus. Bruce disabled the guy's flying Olympus but some explosion knocked him down, his bat-parachute or whatever he calls it, malfunctioned, causing him to crash into my roof. Naturally, he paid for the damage-"

"I found out he was a computer specialist, one of the best the city had to offer. I introduced him to Lucius Fox, an invaluable member and manager of Wayne Enterprises, who is also deeply involved with the production of my equipments. He and Lucius worked together to reconfigure the detective mode in my cowl." Bruce answered.

"No one asked you, Wayne." Se'ir countered.

"You waste too much time." Bruce replied, his eyes never leaving the road.

"That's pretty awesome. One more question, is your name really Se'ir?"

"Sean Fenrir. Not Fenrir like the German mythological wolf or whatnot, just Fenrir. I had a chance to change my name so I just put them together."

"Okay...." I smiled. "Maybe I can go for Aphro'Jo" I said and cringed at how retarded it sounded.

"Sorry darling, it only works for me." He smirked.

"Yeah, you're right." I agreed.

"Of course I am." He replied, wiggling his eyebrows. I shook my head at him and laid back to rest. I wasn't too tired but I was getting exhausted. It was quiet now. Se'ir relaxing, Bruce thinking and driving.

"You're pretty strong, Aphrodite, taking in all this stress without whinning all over the place." Se'ir told me.

"Thank you, that makes this whole situation slightly better."

"That better not be sarcasm."

"No, I'm serious. Thanks." I replied. He looked at me and nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. I glanced at Bruce, he looked focused as usual, his blue eyes piercing the road ahead. I rested my head and closed my eyes.
