Epilogue

●●●

"Abel," Tinawag naman ako nang kasamahan ko sa football, si Oroquieta matapos ang practice namin. Captain kasi ako ng football team ng university namin - or Rugby if in United Kingdom terms. American Football is different from soccer.

I smirked at my teammate at sinenyasan lang na magkita na lang kami sa labas ng gym. We have a transaction, just between the two of us and we need discretion for it.

He was bringing the black bag.

"Fuck, Lopez, muntik pa ako kanina mabisto ng guard," Anito sa 'kin at inabot na ang itim na bag.

Binuksan ko naman iyong bag at nakita ang ilang pakete ng marijuana sa loob. Napangisi na lang ako. There were also some marijuana cigarettes inside. Siya kasi ang dealer ko sa marijuana - well, it was my first time to order drugs. I was curious so I want to try it.

Ibinigay ko kaagad kay Oroquieta ang pera, "Don't fucking tell anyone about this." I warned him. Drugs should only exist between him and me. Nobody should know about this or else, my football career will be jeopardized. I'm just adopted but then nakikipagbasag-ulo pa ako. I'll probably be expelled as well if everyone will know I do drugs.

"Sure. Walang makakakaalam. Just don't smoke weeds publicly, Darius Abel." After a few minutes, Oroquieta finally left me alone. I smirked as I got one marijuana cigarette inside the bag.

I breathed deeply. Fuck. This marijuana cig is really good.

"Unbelievable."

I looked up and saw a girl. The only thing prominent with her is her chinky eyes. Chinese ata itong babaeng 'to.

"Unbelievable what?" Kunot-noong tanong ko naman dito. Napalinga-linga naman ako sa paligid ko. Thank God, there's only the two of us.

Mas lalo namang sumingkit ang mga mata nito, "You're doing drugs." She said matter-of-factly. Natawa naman ako sa sinabi niya. I'll just warn her not to spread about this. Most of the girls in the university would drool over me - maybe because I am a Captain of a certain sports team. Ganun naman talaga madalas ang mga babae eh, kapag may itsura, they'll immediately spread their legs.

"I know," I replied cockily, "It's just one time anyway. To kill my curiosity." I simply answered.

"You're the son of the most prominent veteran lawyer in our country, Atty. Alonso Lopez but then the irony, his only son is doing drugs."

"Adopted." I corrected her. When I was fifteen, I became an orphan. I originally came from Texas, USA. My biological parents were farmers and devoted Catholics. May misa 'nun sa isang Catholic chapel sa Texas but then a random gunman suddenly massacred all the people inside the chapel. My parents were there and they died instantly.

Then a good old couple, Mr. Alonso Lopez and Mrs. Sydney Rose Lopez adopted me. Nasa New York kasi sila noon then they visited a certain foster home in Texas. Doon nila ako nakilala - and that's how I became their adopted son. They're too old already to be my parents that's why some people would often mistaken them as my grandparents.

But despite of it, I respect them so much anyway.

They even changed my name legally into Darius Abel Lopez.

"I'm going to tell the administration about this."

"Sure, whatever." I shrugged and just continued smoking.

Like she isn't used to people not going for what she wants nor not fearing her.

Spoiled, maybe?

"You will really freaking pay for this! Ugh!" Padabog naman itong umalis. Natawa na lang ako sa reaksyon niya. But before I could even concentrate on smoking again, may napansin naman akong isang ID na nahulog sa lupa.

I picked it up and saw it was her ID.

Sydney Elizabeth T. Sy

"Fuck," I cursed under my breath the moment I realized whom she was due to her name.
