Yes, Mom. I'm coming home. Natagalan lang ako kasi may pakulo pa pala itong si Enzo." I told my mother, Glenda on the phone while I was driving. Gabing-gabi na kasi sa mga oras na iyon at kakagaling ko lang sa isang high school reunion party. Actually, I just got home last few weeks ago sa Pilipinas from my law school in Stanford University in USA. Nagvacation lang kasi ako dahil may two-week break kami from the university.

"Yes, don't worry. Okay, bye, love you." I added as I finally ended the call. Nagfocus naman ako ulit sa pagmamaneho ko. It was raining heavily. Buti na lang hindi na ganoon kalala ang traffic sa mga oras ngayon.

Sa pagmamaneho ko naman ay may napansin naman akong babae sa unahan na naglalakad. She wasn't holding any umbrella. Naglalakad lang siya habang nagpapabasa sa ulan. She looked troubled as she wasn't walking straightly into the road.

But then my eyes suddenly got widened when the woman collapsed. Kaagad ko namang naihinto ang sasakyan ko. Fuck. What the fuck did just happen?

Mabilis naman akong bumaba mula sa kotse ko at kaagad dinaluhan ang walang malay na babae. Basang-basa na rin ako dahil sa ulan. I couldn't even see her face properly because of the dim lights and heavy raining.

"M-Miss, Miss," I called her but then I got surprised when I saw a lot of blood coming from her feet. She was fucking bleeding!

"Fuck!" I cursed under my breath as I quickly lifted her up.

"Is she your girlfriend, Darius?" My uncle who is also a doctor asked me. Matapos ko kasing makita ang duguan na babae na walang malay sa daan ay dinala ko siya sa ospital kung saan pinagmamay-ari ng Uncle kong doktor. Dr. Harrison is my father's younger brother.

I tried to smile. I don't even know the woman's name, nor her face was familiar to me."I didn't know her, Uncle. She's a stranger, I just saw her suddenly collapsed while walking on the road. I was driving." I reasoned out.

Huminga naman ito ng malalim, "Ganun ba? 'Cause it seems here, based on her medical results, she's pregnant." Napatigil naman ako sa sinabi ni Uncle. I looked at the transparent window separating us from the woman's room outside. Sa napapansin ko ay hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin siya nagigising. She was just sleeping soundly on her bed.

I crossed my arms. Somehow, I felt nervous. I saw a lot of blood coming from her bago ko siya dinala rito.

"Based on her identification card from her things, she's Sydney Rose Ochua. Nineteen years old. It seems that when you brought her here, she was pregnant but... she got a miscarriage, Darius." Ani sa 'kin ni Uncle. I don't know what to feel after saying those words to me. Even though Ms. Ochua is just a mere stranger to me, I felt sorry for her. I felt guilty for losing her child - like it was a partial fault from myself dahil siguro kung nadala ko lang siya kaagad sa ospital, maybe the doctors could save her baby.
