"Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers, that grow so incredibly high.
Newspaper taxis appear on the shore, waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back, with your head in the clouds,
And your gone."

Shelby handed me a small tab of foil
"Let's do it together at the same time!"
Holding hers, she unwrapped the foil and held a tiny square that looked like paper
Copying her moves, I unfolded it and examined the paper
Beside me, Andrew did the same and popped it under his tongue
Shelby followed, and while I put mine in she told me to keep the paper under my tongue until it all dissolved, then to swallow it
"How does it work?"
"The paper is covered in chemicals. It's not going to taste good, but it'll only last 10-20 minutes, then you'll feel it kick in."
As soon as my tongue came in contact with the paper, a strong bitter taste appeared in my mouth
"This is disgusting! Gross."
She shook her head and told me,
"The trip is soo worth it, babe."
Why did everyone keep saying this?
As I waited for the trip to set in, Andrew and I found a seat and joined everyone by the campfire
I loved being around these people, they were so much fun and knew just the right things to say to get a genuine laugh out of me
About fifteen minutes later, the tab started tasting like just plain paper, so I sent it down my throat in one gulp
"You swallowed yours too?"
I turned to answer Andrew's question, but things got hazy
It was like one moment I was sober, then the next
-BAM-
It hit me
It really, truly hit me
My whole body felt so good, and my vision got....
For the first time ever I can't find the words to explain how it felt
So instead I'm going to put down what I saw
First of all, out in the woods it was easy to see the big beautiful constellation in the sky
The stars were bright and radiant
But on acid, the stars were BREATHTAKING, and danced along in patterns, swirling around in a dizzying motion
And the fire, oh wow
At times I thought I saw little demons in them, which nearly sent me into a bad trip until Andrew told me to look him in the eye
"I'm good at sending people out of bad trips. Just look me in the eyes."
His normally green eyes were suddenly a thousand different colors at once, his black pupils as big as apples
I remember not being able to tear my gaze from his wonderful eyes
At one point, I had to pee
I told Andrew to accompany me, so together we made the treacherous walk through the woods on acid
Shadows kept fucking with my head and the trees reached out and tried grabbing me, I even mistook a bush as an alien
"Andrew! Look, it's an alien. Do you think it's going to abduct us?"
"I don't think so. Not before that huge branch alien over there does first."
After peeing, he pulled me in close to him
Another thing about 'cid, it makes you pretty damn horny
With his body so close to mine, I almost was tempted to go further with him than ever before
But I settled with just a long- lasting kiss
Running my hands through his hair was one of the coolest things I've ever felt in my life
Just touching things in general was so fascinating
The bark on trees, the dirt on the ground, Andrew's abs...
For hours this went on, bursts of lights filling my vision and seeing things that weren't real
I felt like a kid with a wild imagination come true, only instead of just pretending it was actually coming true
Everything was just so satisfying
Everything was so HALARIOUS
I never wanted to come down
One of the best parts was watching Shelby hoop with her LED hula hoop
The colors were by far the trippiest thing I'd seen yet
And right then I vowed to learn to do those complicated moves she did, she just seemed so at peace with herself
I will never forget that night, because it was probably the best in my entire existence
Lucy took me in the sky all right, and for that, I fell in love with her

Let me just say I love this chapter so much.
