After breakfast we headed downtown to find us some black and white clothes and masks to wear at the party.

Damon tried on a black shirt and I couldn't help but to comment. "Hmm, haven't I seen you in a black shirt before? Perhaps you should try red?" I couldn't help but to giggle afterwards and received a glare from him.

"Maybe I shouldn't wear any shirt at all, as a gift for all the girls," he retorted and that wiped the smile off my face quite efficiently. That was his time to chuckle. He found a pair of really well fitted slacks and decided on the black shirt after all. I had to admit; it really suited him.

When we got out of the men's clothing store, I pulled my iPhone out of my pocket and ran a search for a shop that sold masquerade-masks. Luckily there was one not far from our current location and we went over there. It was almost overwhelming with all these high quality venetian masks. It was obvious this was not any old Halloween costume store.

Damon pulled out a black mask. "At my last masquerade I wore something like this." He put it in front of his face and I thought it made his face too slim.

"Sorry, I don't like it; you should have something wider that doesn't cover up those beautiful cheekbones," I said and stroked his face.

Wait a minute, what the hell did I just say?

I don't know if it was him or me who was most surprised, he lifted one of his eyebrows and tilted his head a bit as he studied me.

I harrumphed and found a red one with devils horns. "Perhaps this one?" I tried to distract my revelation with a teasing smile.

"Deflection; that's my game," he muttered and ignored my suggestion.

I put it back up on its display; it wasn't really a serious suggestion anyway. He tried one that only covered one half of his face like the phantom of the opera-kind of thing, but finally we found one; a black leather mask that widened his face and it was perfect. It had discrete swirly decorations on it, all in black leather and it looked really well crafted.

We looked at a few for me; the plain ones made me look like one of the 'Beagle Boys'.

"You should definitely wear a black one with that black hair of yours." The guy behind the counter said with a smile that made Damon take a step closer to me.

"Only nothing with... feathers," Damon objected with a shiver. I looked a bit surprised at him, but he just looked at the masks on the wall behind the counter.

"How about this one?" the guy by the counter suggested and held out a fragile one made of cut out metal in swirls. It was gorgeous!

When I put it up in front of me Damon just nodded with a vry smile. There wasn't much to discuss; that was the one!

Damon pulled out his credit card once again and then we kept going; trying to find something for me to wear.

In a vintage store I found a black dress that was in style like some corset with a short wide skirt and held it out in front of me. "What about some black and white stockings with this one?"

Damon tilted his head and then frowned. "You'll look like some Goth-chick." He shook his head.

I didn't really agree and took it with me to the dressing room, with some other dresses. When I had got it on, I knew exactly what he meant; it felt totally wrong. I never thought I would be taking shopping advices from him; the man in black.

In the beginning it was fun to try some dress on and then go out and model for that gorgeous man I had with me, and I'm not sure if there's some kind of diagnose for that kind of behaviour, but the more outfits I tried on and realised he had been right, the worse my mood got.
