Of course Niall realized something was wrong. When service was over he immediately turned to me.

Niall: What did she say?

Lindsey: What?

Niall: Lindsey, you don’t have to play dumb. I know Larinda said something to you.

He was acting really protective. He was raising his voice so I put my hand on his shoulder to try and calm him down.

Lindsey: Niall, please. We’ll talk about this after we leave the building. I don't want her to think we're talking about her.

Niall: I don’t care. Lindsey, what did she say to you?!

Lindsey: Niall. (I grabbed his hand) Please calm down. You don’t want to make a scene, do you?

Danny: Hey, what’s going on? You okay, Niall?

Niall: Yeah, I’m fine. (he marched off towards the exit)

Danny: Lindsey, what happened?

Lindsey: I’ll explain later. He should be fine.

Danny: Do you want me to go find him?

Lindsey: I can. It's my fault he stormed off in the first place.

Danny: I'm sure it's his own fault, but I'll let you go find him. Let's meet outside in 10 minutes and then we’ll go buy some food for lunch.

Lindsey: Okay! I'll go find him before he hurts someone.

Danny: I'm looking forward to hearing about this!

Danny left to go talk to people and I went looking for Niall. I saw him in the back talking to his parents. I figured I would just wait outside, so I walked past them, but someone touched my shoulder, and I turned around to find Niall's mom smiling at me.

Maura: Lindsey, you were just lovely up there darling!

Bobby: We’re lucky to have you here, Lindsey.

Lindsey: Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Horan. I’m so blessed to be here.

Maura: Oh, please call us Maura and Bobby!

Lindsey: Okay, well thank you Maura and Bobby. I’m still having to get used to being informal. (we all laughed)

Bobby: We also heard you have a new roommate. (he looked at Niall)

Maura: We hope he isn’t giving you much trouble.

Lindsey: Not at all! Actually he’s been doing dishes, which is very helpful!

Bobby: Really? Well, first time for everything, I suppose.

Maura: Anyway, I was just telling Niall that you all need to come to our house for dinner. I’ll make something delicious!

Niall: Well, you know, Lindsey is a fabulous cook herself—

Lindsey: I wouldn’t say that.

Niall: Of course you wouldn’t. She’s incredible, really. So incredible in fact, I suggest you come to our house for dinner Wednesday night! That way we can go and watch the fireworks they’re having over the river on our deck.

Maura: Wonderful idea, Niall! It is a perfect view for the fireworks, but I cannot wait to taste Lindsey’s delicious cooking!

Lindsey: You won’t forget it, that’s for sure.

Bobby: I sure hope not! Anyway, we better get going. We’ll see you Wednesday night around 5:30?

Niall: Sounds perfect.
