BTW, I saw Hunger Games last night and I can say it was pretty darn good. How many of you read the book. I only read book one, but I'mso tempted to get book two now.

Chapter 25.2

"Umm," Dexter started nervously. "Mr. Black hired me, despite me being a con and arrested for felonies because he said I could put my skill to use."

"What skill?" Stefanie asked suspiciously.

Dexter flushed. "I conned women out of money."

"And you were caught and sent to jail?" Treasure assessed as if this meant absolutely nothing. "How long?"

"Twenty years," Dexter said proudly.

Treasure actually looked impressed. "That's a lot of time for taking some money."

"Ten million dollars is a lot of money."

Stefanie almost bit her tongue in shock. "You're pretty young. Should you be out so early?"

"Good behavior and some hustling with the warden."

Axel grunted. "Truth," he grumbled, still recovering from Lethal's blow.

Dexter rolled his eyes. "I had relationships with the warden and some guards and conned them saying I would file state sexual harassment charges if I didn't get an early release."

"That's working the system to your advantage," Treasure said chuckling. "So you're working for Mr. Black and what happened?"

"It's hard to find legit work when you have a big ass felony on your record," Dexter pouted. "But Mr. Black took a chance and hired me to be like an advisor. I watch different accounts when others suspect stealing and I'd like do anything for him. So when he asked if I could put my prior skills to task again by seducing two women at once and getting them looking one way while he did something, then hell, I jumped at the chance to put the old skills to work; Especially on those heifers you want to call friends, Ms. Stefanie."

She flushed. "Well, they definitely aren't friends anymore."

"What exactly were you hired to do?" Treasure asked suspiciously.

"Well, first I got to Jezica. She was the easiest - nearly attacked me in the hallway at the club and dragged me in the guy's bathroom to hit it from behind."

Stefanie gasped. "You mean the first night we met you?"

"Oh yeah. Trust me, I didn't know that freak was going to take me on a wild ride, like that. I mean I thought for sure they'd be all stuck up like you, Ms Stefanie-"

Stefanie interrupted him. "How long had you been stalking us?"

"I wasn't stalking... I mean, watching you. That was Mr. Black. He was always watching y'all together. Wherever you were out in public, he was always there. I used to meet up with him just to sit and keep him company so I could see how those two really were to you."

Treasure and Stefanie looked at Axel who now flushed in embarrassment.

Growling, he said, "Not so damn truthful, Dexter."

"Oh no, please," Treasure encouraged. "Continue, Dexter."

"He's not sick. He just liked what he saw."

Stefanie moved to sit up fully feeling a lot better. "So you seduced Lauren too?"

"She needed some goading, but Mr. Black helped me in terms of making her think I was richer than spit. I told her I owned a lot of Internet stock that I was willing to sell her if she could come up with the money quickly."

Axel was no sitting in a chair a little straight, but he still looked like he was in pain. The whole time, Stefanie knew he was staring at her watching her reaction to what Dexter was saying. She tried very hard to not look at him because she wasn't sure what her feelings were in regards to his entire deceit. She wanted to scream and asked how was he Daxapholos, but she stayed calm. Lethal had said to just listen and she would because she trusted Lethal wouldn't leave unless he knew she was going to be okay.

Yet, she gripped the edge of the couch's seat on the brink of a nervous breakdown. Yes, she believed Lethal wouldn't leave if she was not safe, but she didn't think he would care that she would be happy after everything was revealed.

Stefanie doubted she would ever find happiness even after this explanation was over with.

Treasure has misgivings on her voice to Dexter when she asked, "So you jumped between Jezica and Lauren?"

"Nah, I didn't have to, although I wouldn't mind giving them a run for their money together. Once I knew Jezica stole Nick's money and hid it under Lauren's name, I knew I just had to go with one of them to get what I wanted." He looked at Stefanie. "Jezica talks in her sleep when she's exhausted. That's how Nick found out everything, ain't it, Mr. Black?"

Axel only nodded, but his piercing green eyes were only at Stefanie.

Dexter continued his explanation, "Lauren was like a pussy and I was the catnip, Ms. Stefanie. She wanted everything she thought I had and then she opened up and explained her financial situation. I have her confession on tape how she embezzled all the money and gave the tapes over to Mr. Dwight Sinclaire. She gave me access to everything and right after she got on a plan to the islands to hide out thinking I was right behind her on another plane, I ran to the bank and took all that money out."

Now she had to look at Axel for confirmation. He nodded to show his corroboration with a deep look of concern for her. His eyes traveled down to where she was tightly gripping the edge of the couch and then back at her eyes. She could feel he wanted to come over and comfort her, but she didn't want him to - not now and she wasn't sure if she ever wanted comfort as she listened to Dexter.

"Were those the same tapes Dwight turned over to Lethal?" Treasure asked.

"Yes, Ms. Treasure," Dexter answered. "Along with the bank accounts and access codes with all the money she took."

"And where is Lauren exactly? Did she really runaway?" Stefanie inquired.

Dexter checked his watch. "She's currently landing in the islands and checking in with Nick's credit cards she stole from Jezica's bank box. We've notified Nick and it's up to him to press charges."

"So you ARE working for Nick?" Treasure asked.

Stefanie wanted to ask the same question, but her stomach was in knots as if she had been punched by Lethal.

Dexter looked at Axel.

Now it was time for him to explain himself - It was time for Daxopholos Black to speak.
