Everett's POV

When I finally come to, my head rings with shocks of pain that reverberates violently around my skull. My nerves feel as though they are on fire, flames eating away at my mind and the only thing I can feel. A pounding headache caves in my skull, intense and pulsing. My tongue is heavy and limp in my mouth, coated in the metallic, bittersweet taste of blood. It brings nausea to my stomach, thick, sickening waves threatening to make me throw up. With the combination of the blood in my mouth and the strange feeling in my head, I feel like I'm about to pass out again. I struggle to stay conscious, eyes fluttering rapidly.

"Well look who decided to join the party," a voice says slyly, one all too familiar to me. I almost can't believe it, shock spreading across my face before I can stop it.

I raise my head like I'm lifting a weight, and turn to look up at the man with the cold, watery blue eyes, an icy ocean I've looked at almost my entire life.

"Hello father."
