This Ouran fic is set after the anime, so Haruhi's second year at Ouran, after the whole fair fiasco, fall fall off the bridge and hug hug fall in love.
It won't 100% follow what the manga does during Haruhi's second year and such. But I will link and follow some exact details and storylines bcs it makes sense as an Ouran fic that way.

Personality: independent, passionate, likes to appeal to people's best interests unless they're against her own wishes or morals and mood fluctuations
Likes: travelling, Host Club, friends, music, writing- the 3 C's - Cars, Cats and Coffee
Dislikes: Ootori family (though cousin Kyoya and his sister are okay), hospitals, balloons, manipulation & no control
Skills: Basic Fighting Skills (isn't super strong but can hold her own), Science, Writing essays & reports, cooking, mechanics, Basic Medical, & Mario Kart
Parents: Divorced
Mother - famous American model
Father - Youngest brother of senior Ootori (brother of Kyoya's dad)
(He replaced his Ootori name with something else and became a famous director in America)
Eileen - Step-mother - famous American actress
Status:
Rin lives in Japan with father and step-mother in their Americanised mansion. She attends Ouran academy, in which she joined the Host Club as a female host shortly after Haruhi arrived. Rin is desperate to see more of the world, but has to battle between her studies, responsibilities and having fun. She is passionate about Environmentalism.
